carl froch inactivity

DeGale did go down the WBC route and got screwed over by them.

 

I dont think you can call Froch inactive, twice a year and all against top level opposition c'mon....plus watching one of his fights entertains more than most of the other's throughout the year.

 

Can see this going one of two ways for me.

As has been mentioned, Degale as been found to sit on the ropes on quite a few occasions. If he does that against Froch, he'll get punished for it.

or

Froch, can't get up for the fight and doesn't perform 100%. He came out after the Groves and held his hands up & said, he wasn't fully there on the night because he thought he was going to steamroll Groves and that he didn't belong in the ring with him. Doing that against an awkward fighter in Degale could prove costly.

For me, it's Froch by stoppage. For one, Degale doesn't hit as hard as Groves so doesn't have the power to deter Froch and secondly, under the pressure Froch will put him under I can't see how he won't resort to previous habits of ending up on the ropes.

 

No but he has a much better chin and a much more awkward style, which like Ward and Dirrell will give Carl Kittens.

 

How can you say he's got a much better chin? The only person he's faced that's a 'banger' is only really Groves, who fought on the back foot the night he faced him & did him on points.

Degale can be hit, I rate him but he isn't an Andre Ward by any stretch. Andre Ward had Froch in knots because he can simply near on do everything.. fight inside, outside, mid-range, hits hard enough etc... Degale isn't Andre Ward, and as we've found out if you don't have the power to deter Froch + enjoy chilling on the ropes.. you'll get Bute'd.

He may have an awkward style, but his 'boxing brain' has to be questioned there.. because he was often falling short of ideas against Groves. Georgie boy had him fighting his fight.

 

Look at his schedule going back several years.

A little inactivity, no big deal.

Why aint edward hearns doing everything he can to get Carl the Vegas fight he dreams off? In 20 year time carl would thank him a lot more than if he got him the top dollar, or is it all about money all of the time?

I've said Degale doesn't bang as hard as Groves, I think most would agree?

Degale's chin.. so far it's held up at the level he's been fighting at, but will it against a proven world class heavy handed opponent that will be fighting on the offensive? Remains to be seen.

Groves fought him on the back foot, Degale just didn't seem fully prepared for it. Often at times looked lost on ideas.

I think Degale causes Froch problems early on, for the simple reasons as has been said, he's an awkard skillfull fighter. But in my opinion, Froch stops him in that no matter what Degale does, it won't deter Froch, he'll either end up on the ropes or out of ideas which he's done in the past and that'll spell the end of it.

 

Degale has never been on the floor as an amateur or Pro.

Groves has been koed by Froch twice down on the floor againts Anderson, Rocked againts Smith and Koed in the amateurs by Travis Dickinson.

You are also forgetting that hes been on the floor in sparring from Eubank Jr, Froch, Aston, Cleverly etc

Im not saying Degale is better then Groves because i would pick Groves to beat Degale( I just think he has his number) but Degale has a better chin and theres no questioning that mate.

hell froch doesn't fight one subdomestic for a title defence, that's pissing on your fans. Joe enjoyed pissing hard onto his welsh fans.

 

I prefer Calzaghe but i agree there, Joe had some some shocking title defences lol.

Froch is 37 and has fought everyone.

Naz fought some undewhelming challengers , got a good hiding from the best man he faced when he was ten years younger than Froch , and did not want a return.
