Me on 8/27/2009. I was wrong about the stoppage prediction but most were picking Dirrell to win. Froch was also written off as a no-skilled brute at the time, glad to see others are picking up on his unusual but effective skills. yes, I'm patting myself on the back. :good
Don't understand why people get so angry for my expressing my opinion on a forum, the definition of which, is an avenue for people expressing their opinions...
Ward gets knocked out by AA in the semis and america jumps on tavouris clouds dick instead. Meanwhile Carl Froch continues to fight and beat the best. Legend.
Haha, obviously thrilled enough with yourself to post this piece which contains absolutely no facts, and in fact, nothing but highly improbably conjecture.
Well, feel free any time to address it by listing all 20 boxers you rate over him. Couldn't possibly be an absence of tact, I suppose.
Well the point is that calling Froch a D-rated fighter really is nothing short of ******ed though, his competition in his weight class of fighters beat(even if i hate the guy and thought he lost to dirrell) is arguably better than anyone else's. If being ranked #1 in fighters fought in a competitive division by today's standards makes you a D on a letter scale then boxing is ****ed. Froch has done a great job of showing heart, moderate skill, and good athleticism in his fights. What has he done that deserves such a rating?
Because its bull**** that's why. So what if you're expressing your opinion, I could post "Ali was an overhyped B rated fighter" and when I get torn apart it's warranted, sure it's an opinion but it's moronic. Not many people say he'll beat Ward but ffs D rated? A D rated fighter doesn't even get the opportunity to fight the opposition Froch has his last 5 fights let alone win 4/5!! If you are a pro then you should fully understand what it takes to get to the level Froch is at and let alone have success at that level.
Ezzard Charles, Muhammad Ali, Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Sugar Nikolai Valuev..........reaching after that. :think
Ok, last post before I go to bed. In no particular order. Greb, SRR, Langford, Armstrong, Duran, Charles, Ali, Louis, Gans, Leonard (Benny), Burley, Pacquiao, Pep, Walker, Ross, Fitz, Walcott (my all time fave, maybe biased), JCC.................................. ok you got me, he's in there.
I suspect you've got a short list of top fighters, if you're comparing everyone to those guys. I see your point though and I do understand where you're coming from. Froch does make a lot of errors but he has a style which covers those errors. Even if he has flaws, he covers them up very well.
Thought you were off to bed? you need your beauty sleep darling :smooch Leave boxing to the boys ok? x
Bit harsh, dont know if you can call him a D class fighter considering who he has already beaten, that said, I must admit, I'd started to warm to Froch, only when you watch him fight, he kinda loses your support cause it hits home just how horrible/basic he is technically, although I guess if he is winning, should that matter? which is a fair point, but he is not my cup of tea, although I respect him for maximizing his talent, as I did'nt think he would achieve as much as he has with his limited skills.
