Froch is a player in possibly the deepest division in boxing and has been competitive with everyone he's fought, and recently pitched a complete shut out over another top guy.

    But you're right.

    ****ing terrible he is.

Froch is an ugly and awkward fighter, but effective. He is a much better fighter than he appears. He has modest speed, to be generous. He has decent power but nothing special. His chin is pretty good but overrated. He leaves his hands down all the time and he lacks the super speed & reflexes that other successful top fighters who use this style have, so you think he's ready to get starched. But he's gotten the job done against some solid fighters.

He's grown on me, I respect him a lot more in recent fights.

This could be the single stupidest post I've read in weeks. The greatest WW in history...****ing unreal. You say the WW he's faced haven't had a chance...yeah no **** because they were ****ing old, shot, and had been beaten the **** down prior to him fighting them. Who's the last "live" fighter he's fought JMM? I mean Hatton had been KO'd, Margarito KO'd, Cotto KO'd, I mean who the **** has he beat that was so impressive Clottey? I mean Clottey's claim to fame was losing to all the best WW's, he didn't fight SSM when he could have, he hasn't faught PBF, he won't fight Berto, I mean who the **** made Margo, Cotto, and Clottey the class of the division? They were all three out of the "picture" when he faced them.

Based on the description of Greb's style and trying to imagine a modern fighter who looks somewhat similar in his unorthodox nature the closest fighter i tend to think of is...Calzaghe :good

you got it wrong between Ward and Dirrell. It is the other way around but you are right about the mental strength.

he may not be the most technically skilled fighter but to say he sucks is a big no no.if he sucks then what does that about the guys he has beaten so far ? and i thought he beat kessler as well.

The fact is this conversation's irrelevant ....Froch has already beaten 3 people that I would say have fundementally better boxing "skills" than him.

This sport's about winning and it's these sort of people that had to eat their words after watching guys like Dawson lose to the apparently less "skilled" fighter like Pascal. They fall in love with the technique and ignore the other factors that contribute to a great fighter.

If it's outside Oakland Froch has a 50/50 chance against Ward IMO. He's without doubt the more proven fighter at this point.
