Carl Froch is going to be THE next superstar of 168 mark my words; this man is the single most under rated talent in the ring today and just how he can be overlooked considering what he has accomplished and the way he has accomplished it I can't fathom. The results are undeniable as is the man if you take the time to watch him in the ring, he's truly one of those special rare talents. When 'The Fraud' Joe Calzaghe finally stops giving everyone the run around and vacates the WBC belt Carl will be there to pick up that belt and from then on move towards unifying the rest. Make no mistake Carl will beat them all. Lets look at the talent on offer @ 168: Inkin - skillfully avoided a showdown; twice! Taylor - Would get crucified. If he thought Pavlik hit hard he'll get a rude awakening when he fights Froch! Kessler - Possibly the most intriging 168 fight but Froch would take this. As Joe showed all it takes is a little heart to fight through Kessler's barrages and you'll find he doesn't really have what it takes to handle blows well - they ruin his fighting flow. Froch would do this better than anyone especially since he has such a great reach. A fight with Froch would be like the Enzo v Haye fight for Froch. Bute - Ok all rounder but nothing to shout home about. Would get dismantled by Froch's power. Miranda - Massively overhyped and not really a threat to any of the above bar Inkin and maybe Bute. Would be stopped in 4 rounds; less than Pavlik did it in. Pavlik - Not 168 yet but @ 6.2" it can't be that hard for him to move up he's pretty weight drained as it is. Pavlik can take a punch I respect that but Taylor doesn't hit half as hard as Froch and the angles Froch throws from would leave a stand up fighter like Pavlik unable to anwser. Don't judge him from the Lockett fight, Gary was weak, slow, lead footed and utterly immobile in the upper body while being noticeably shorter something which kelly exploited to look far far better. Joe Calzaghe - Simply won't fight Froch. In a way I can respect the fact he's earnt the right to deny Froch a fight BUT its all too clear he wants nothing from Pavlik so you can make your own deductions from that.... I know most of you disagree right now but Froch and time will prove me right. This man is a megastar in the making and a true warrior many will do anything to avoid - just wait and see :thumbsup
how is calzaghe a fraud? he's paid his dues and now deserves paydays which froch will not privide him with. he's unified the titles and if froch was that good he would have beaten bute to a title! plus he aint a megastar in the making, he has no charisma. nice bloke but hardly the most fascinating of people. not a great orator and just genuinely dull, as i saw in his last fight on itv he seemed a nice bloke but wasnt incaptuating (if that is a word!)
Its good froch has some solid fans, however he would be better served with someone with a bit of reality sense.... Majority of the guys mentioned beats him.
If you think courage made the difference in the Kessler-Calzaghe fight, that explains why your post is so way out. Movements made much more difference than courage. Since Froch does not move very well, he won't be able to win against Kessler. For the same reason, he wouldn't touch Bute for the entire night. It's ok to like a boxer, Froch hits hard, propably has a good chin, but his defence, movements and speed are not enough to be a great champion at this weight. Time will tell I guess.
Calzaghe is true champion already, beating Lacy and Kessler he deserves his superb spot right now. If someone else wants to fight with him he should prove he is above the rest. So if Froch beats any other top dog like Kessler, Mudine or Bute then it will be a case for challenging Calzaghe.
oi carl get the **** of our ESB forums and stop promoting yourself. Fight some more bums and see if ur half the champ calzaghe is/was at SMW. ooh i forgot its probably someone from hennesey promotions signed up on our ESB boards -get the **** outta here! as well
You dismiss Carl far too easily guys. you forget it was only a few fights ago Pavlik himself was an unknown + how many of you have actually seen Froch in action? He's something else the way he punches and the angles, its freakish!
Mate, you cannot say an unproven fighter is the truth unless you're having a laugh. You are only "the truth" once you've beaten a few B+ level fighters of varying styles. Then, you are a proven elite fighter. Carl is a promising prospect. Let's hope he's half as good as you think he is, but until he fights someone in the Top 10 at SMW, he is a completely unknown quantity...surely you must see that.
I've heard it said that Froch might be the type who ups his game the better the competition (a bit like Calzaghe in that respect) with Calzaghe winding down his career I hope Froch can make some noise @ 168.
