Carl Froch NOT on UK tv...

Discussion in 'British Boxing Forum' started by kosaros, Apr 1, 2009.

  1. I think the ratings he got for his title fight on ITV got to his head....... The fact is that most were casual channel hoppers that watched.

I like Froch but he is not worth Calzghage money yet

Froch is fighting for and being paid by Dibella.

IF Hennessy is floggin' the TV rights then it's down to him and not Froch to wheeler deal.

Who'd blame him for wanting a chunk of wedge for this tasty tear up ? It would seem him nor any of his stable have ever earned a slice of the pie.

And anyone who accuses Froch of 'being greedy' dont know ****.

We live in an era where sodding KHANT is on Box Office, yet a genuine talent, who is a reigning unbeaten champion is fighting a marquee American... and they wont offer anything for it ?

    Fookin clueless bunch of tits.

    Agreed.

But it's a better fight than say, JC vs RJJ in my eyes.

    Two guys in their primes.

I bet that Froch is a world champ and Khan is not.

Doesn't really make a difference to TV companies when Khan's fights are generating more money

Would be an absolute shame if it didn't get picked up, and it it is still hard to believe that it won't. Setanta's recent financial troubles mean that they can't buy fights long term so they are picking them at short notice like the Holt-Bradley fight this weekend, so it could be assumed that will also happen with Froch-Taylor. However, Setanta are apparently not just in financial trouble but MASSIVE financial trouble with it being so bad that they are even considering the option of scrapping the UK arm of their operation. In that context maybe Hennessy will get more realistic the closer it gets to the fight as is often the case and Setanta will step in, but nothing would come as a surprise in this economic climate.

True, but it should, it is the only way fighters can make a name for themselvs, and profit in the long run. Very pissed off about this, but I am pretty sure somebody will pick it up soon.

I think Froch is a little delusional about how much a WBC title actually means these days.

Yeah, it needs promotion this fight, an advertising campaign etc, especially after the viewing figure Froch got for the Pascal fight. Needs to try and tap into some of them casual fans that wtahced that

If Froch is being too greedy then it's his own fault so there'll be no sympathy from me. I want to watch the fight of course, but I don't see how Froch is demanding so much at this stage - if this is the case of course.
