I love Froch, he's such a smartass, its hilarious ......and all the people who don't like his attitude they need to lighten up, he makes the sport exciting for a change. And that's a good thing.

I think Ward is best understood as a depressant. I'm not trolling or anything, I honestly believe the man lacks grip.

    Silence, fornicator

Carl Froch has already been around that corner. He had two big fights against George Groves, who was a rising domestic fighter (the stoppage in the first fight was some funny **** btw. Groves had Froch in the bag, but it didn't do him any good :D). Something Joe Calzaghe wasn't keen on when Froch tried to get him into the ring. If Froch keeps fighting young guns, he'll lose eventually. No point in going down that road.

This Degale had his chance and blew it and lost to Groves. Groves is very slippery and it caused Froch problems but Degale fights very flat footed and squares himself up a lot he would be right there for Froch. Froch was planning on fighting Degale before the first Groves match anyway IDK why he didn't afterwards but it probably had something to do with him being mandated a second Groves fight.

People don't understand that Froch wants a big PPV fight in America. Degale doesn't bring that and Frochs team did go to HBO to see if a Froch-GGG fight would be PPV material and they said NO so he turned to Chaves. Blame HBO not Froch anyway he has fought 2 mandatories and will fight a third if Ward doesn't pull out but it's not ok for him to fight Chaves but it's ok if GGG wants to fight Chaves right? Same people hating on Froch for Fightig some of the best comp in the sport give GGG a pass on Monroe and Chaves.

People saying he avoided Degale when he had his chance and lost to Groves. How do you avoid Degale who is a million times more beatable than Ward but start preparing to fight Ward....

Yeah, Groves beating Degale is something you need to put into the equation.

I have a hard time to grasp that Froch actually is prepared to have another mano el mano with Ward. Froch has slowed down far too much to be a threat to Ward. Is the man brave or should he be seen as somewhat delusional :huh

But the fight won't happen. Ward can't accept the idea of traveling, or to do what someone else tells him to. It will be interesting to see who Frochs final fight will be against. Not GGG, not Chavez, not Degale and not Ward as it seems. Can't see many options left.

I understand why he doesn't want DeGale. I made the reference to Joe, because Joe giving the belts up at SMW to fight at LHW, is akin to what Carl's doing now. Only at the time, Carl didn't appreciate that fact. But Chavez isn't a better fight. DeGale is young and hungry, and he's going places. He's had some good wins of late, he's had some good exposure, and it would be a big British fight. In my opinion, if Carl fought him and beat him, DeGale would still go on and do something good in his career. I think he's good enough to win a belt at SMW and possibly LHW in the future. So over time it would enhance Carl's resume. Whereas Chavez isn't going anywhere. He's notoriously lazy, and he'll probably end up fighting at LHW and CW, because he won't be able to make weight for much longer. I don't see how it would make him more money either. But if he wants to fight in Vegas etc, he's earnt that right. But Chavez isn't a bigger or better fight, it's just an easier fight.

    :good

No point in going down that road?

DeGale would have been a big British fight, and he'd have retained his belt if he'd have won.

He talks about legacy, then gives away one of his belts to pursue a lesser fight.

I think DeGale would be a nightmare for him at this stage.

The fight with Groves was very close and it was a long time ago.

Carl obviously saw DeGale as a big threat.
