amazing indeed, ward is even talking about having a fight, and not only that, but abroad to boot!

you're on thin ice with the contradictory quote thing, ward gives us umpteen examples.

i said froch would struggle to refuse a rematch at the city ground, and you can't admit i was right. let's hope froch doesn't retire, you can buy me that pint! 🍻

I can't see him getting Murray out of there quickly unless the Golovkin hammering has taken a huge chunk out of Murray, which is a distinct possibilty. Obviously we haven't seen Murray up against world class opposition at 168 yet so we don't know how the extra 8lbs will effect him either. You would imagine it would suit him given he's very big MW. Maybe he'll fair worse without his size advantage up there, or maybe he might be stronger, even more durable and hit a little harder.

The only world class opponents Froch has gotten out of there in under five rounds are Robin Reid (who was shot by then) and maybe Tatevosyan who he blew away in impressive fashion in a couple of rounds. Froch isn't what he once was anymore either.

I think Prime AA at MW it would go the full 12 and that would be the best fighter he has fought. AA lost his luster when he moved up to SMW against bigger opponents his physicality was no longer a factor in his fights. I think AAs power at MW would earn GGGs respect but GGG is definitely the better boxer and would get the decision. The AA hype was similar to the GGG hype now and he was seen to destroy Froch within 6 because Froch likes to go to war.

Prime Abraham vs Golovkin would be interesting. Golovkin would win but Abraham's power and toughness command respect. Golovkin's body shots would be a big factor in that fight, IMO.

How about you just admit that the ONLY reason Froch is contemplating this fight is because he was threatened with being stripped of his belt/bargaining chip?

Why had he no intererst in fighting ANYWHERE against Ward 2 months ago, but is now suddenly so keen, if not for the WBA announcement?

    But pints are always welcome!

I thought the same too to be honest. Golovkin and his trainer insinuated as much afterwards, that they were looking for rounds to work on certain things. It's hard to tell for sure though. I think Golovkin could've ended it sooner had he really wanted to but I think it would've ended sometime around the 7th or 8th round. Murray is one tough hombre so I think he hangs around that long even if Golovkin tries to get him out of there sooner.

Seeing AA get his face beat in by Miranda and fighting with that broken jaw I think his chin is pretty solid. I don't see any of GGGs opponents fighting with that type of injury. I also think it would be more of GGG respecting AAs power than anything else.
