Box rec has him number 9. I have him higher has he is clearly ahead of Bad Chad Dawson. And ater his recent slide no way should Vitali be there either. Froch as 7th best boxer in the world?

If he avenges his loss to Kessler I think he deserves to be in it

Possibly in the top 10, if you look at the people below him, none of the names stand out.

The list outside of the top 5 is really weak. It's Wlad, who has beaten nobody of note, Bradley, who has only beaten 'good' fighters, Vitali, which is an abysmal pick and Dawson who, whilst talented, probably hasn't beaten the quality Froch has.

You could argue that Froch deserves to be ranked above all of them. Yeah, he's lost but he's lost to exceptional fighters and he has beaten better opponents than any of them.

He's in a similar position to Cotto, who I also think deserves to be in the top 10.

Agreed. Top 10 lists to often take into account the numbers on the record than the actual content of it.

Yeah, I agree, and this is part of the problem. Fighters know that they can pad their records and get high rankings by the likes of The Ring and sanctioning bodies. I'd rank a guy who fights the best and wins 3 out of 5 above a guy who fights nobodies and beats 5 out of 5. Quality of opposition is absolutely essential.

Sure, Froch and Cotto have lost a few but they're fighting elite opposition. Nobody goes undefeated when they fight elite opposition fight after fight. I'd also consider having Khan around there, seeing as he's fought very good opposition in recent years.

Beyond Pacquiao, Mayweather, Marquez, Donaire and Martinez, you have a choice. Either you go for impressive records or you go for resume. I'd take resume over an inflated record every day of the week.

I hope you guys that are putting Froch on a P4P list are not the same people calling Bute "a bum".

You can't have it both ways..,BTW for me lower top ten like 8 or 9 is a good place for him.

Have they fought the level of opposition Carl has ?

    Dzinziruk, Barker & Macklin :patsch

I don't even talk about the ducker who refuse to fight Rigondeaux.
