I never have been a particularly good runner at all due to respiratory problems, but during my Airforce time we had to run 11.5km (about 7.15 miles) under 50 minutes, with only a couple of my squad of 37 occasionally not making it.
So a professional athlete running 6 in 40 minutes isn't anyting to write home about in my opinion.
Although we often joked about a large portion of our training looked like it was meant to learn how to run away pretty fast, instead of fighting the enemy.

He did many things in his career much more impressive as that.

Id say that is easily do-able for someone that runs often. When I was in school I could run the 1500m in just over 5 mins, granted its just under a mile but if I could do that at a young age (i did do a decent bit of long distance running and played a lot of football back then) but nothing to level a boxer would train for. So yeah thats the times I would kinda expect if not slightly better !!

40 mins for 6 miles is a 41.40 10km pace which would make him a low quality club runner. Most club level woman break 40 mins for 10km.

My personal best 10km was 34.09 and at this time I was about a 4.20 mile runner. There is no way Froch could run close to a 4.30. Maybe 5.50 - 6.00 at best.

I imagine any boxer and professional athlete who has a nutritionist and runs frequently as part of training (which I imagine most boxers do) should easily be able to run a 40min 6 miles

I ran a lot of middle and long distance competitively when I was younger.

I was distinctly average, and would do six miles of varied terrain in 30/34 mins as a regular training jog.

    Carl's not so fast.

That's averaging 9mph for 40 minutes. Very impressive.

He had a special aerodynamic nose akin to Concorde.

Now he's only able to run 6 miles in 41 mins.

    Still impressive though.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s fast but its nothing special, I think most elite fighters can do that. Few years ago I ran 6 miles in 44min and I was 6’1 and 200lb, a friend of mine is 6’2 and 200lb and do 9 miles under 60 min.

A few years ago I ran 3 miles on 21min on a track, Sharif Bogere was there at the same time and passed me 2 times while he was doing 9miles...
