Clearly not over his defeat to Kessler. He has shown very little class since the fight. (not really a surprise though)
He heard an interview with him the other day and he was saying that had Kessler fight been here that he would have been given the verdict and coming up with a load of reasons why it wasn't really a loss including the perforated ear drum, volcanic ash etc etc. Usually a big fan of Froch but he needs to stop whining and get on, learn from his mistakes and take Abraham out.
I don't see it as a close fight. If others do, thats fine. But in my opinion Dirrell was up by at least a couple of rounds.
I'm still baffled on peoples reactions to 'robberies'. The Dirrell fight, no matter which way you look at it was a desparately close one. There's no way it can be called a robbery imo. The Kessler was a close but clear fight which the Dane won fair and square. There have been loads of fights that have been close are catogorically not robberies. Eg. Leonard/Hagler, Calzaghe/Hopkins and on and on.
I had Dirrell taking it close with Froch, but it was an awful fight that was hard to score. Dirrell's keep away tactics early on made it look like he was playing catch-up later on, and Carl was the one actually trying to fight. Dirrell learnt from that and ,against Abraham, put on a good, if skittish performance. Against Kessler, Froch won four or five rounds. He won his rounds more emphatically, maybe, but he got out-worked, out-gamed and out-fought by the Dane. I don't see how anyone could argue it was a Froch win. The best you could say was a draw and that would be giving Froch every benefit of the doubt. Froch's post-fight comments told me that he knew that he'd have been given that at home.
I had Dirrell winning, and Froch beating Kessler. Both damn close fights though, I can fully understand differing scores.
Its interesting seeing people's different perceptions of fights. For me, neither Froch-Dirrel nor Froch-Kessler was close or difficult to score. A close fight is something like Hopkins-Calzaghe or De La Hoya-Whitaker. I.e fights where there's a lot of close rounds and/or only one round in it.
I didn't think that was close at all. Calzaghe was a pretty emphatic winner as long as you didn't give Hopkins more credit than he deserved.
