Yet you were trying to imply Calzaghe wasnt willing to travel but now agree that there wasnt SMWs based in America to travel for.
Still you dont have an agenda

Where have I written that or implied it?

I dont know of him saying that in 08. I know he was interested in the fight in early 00s

Pavlik incident? He was happy to face Pavlik when Pavlik was having many SMW fights. Its when Calzaghe was at LHW and Pavlik was a MW you are referring to and Jones was a bigger fight and a more serious fight.
Go back to when Calzaghe had beaten Hopkins and was signed to fight Jones and Hopkins was lined up to face Pavlik. I was watching a boxing program and they were saying there that Calzaghe/Jones was the bigger fight. They had Hopkins on the phone to talk about it and Hopkins had to try and self promote the fight with Pavlik because it wasnt considered as big a fight. Pavlik was then 2 divisions lighter

Relevant maybe but not as big as Calzaghe, Kessler, Lacy, Beyer. The Hopkins fight you mention for Dawson was years after the Johnson/Tarver fights and long after Calzaghe retired and not relevant to this discussion[/QUOTE]

    That is correct.
People particularly with agendas like to try and rewrite history

I dont, I was telling the whole story.
Why do you have an issue with Calzaghe having tune ups, because you do and when I point to what were late subs you go in to denial for some reason. He didnt have as many as you try and make out and fighter like Thornberry were supposed to be a showcase with Collins on the same bill, to match the winners

When did Calzaghe make contact? Jones was calling him out.
He also noted after that interview which was some time back that Jones had come back with some wins etc

What's your ultimate goal regarding JC here herol? To prove that he's a 'fraud'?! Well that's a lot of boxing judges, peers, ATGs, HOF committee members etc he's fooled then isn't it? Do you think you will ever have one iota of an impact on his life? I don't.. It's clear he's had a huge impact on yours though bro

    -Kessler

    -SRL

Don't being so upset that he destroyed Jones. No one forced him to fight him..

In all fairness to Joe he WAS willing to travel to the Parken stadium in Denmark to unify v Kessler, that is an undeniable fact as far as any knowledgeable fight fan from around that era knows . Joe wanted it , Enzo said " Hey, noa problem " Kessler of course wanted it as did his promoter Mogns Palle until old Mr Palle realised the Millenium Stadium had a far greater seating capacity ( around 20,000 also with a retractable roof ) than the Parken and insisted Mikkel travelled to our wonderful rugby stadium here in the beautiful city of Cardiff . Btw hadn't Joe already fought in Denmark ? I might be wrong about the last bit without checking .

I honestly believe that a Joe-Pavlik fight would have done very good figures.

No worries, even on holiday you can't stay off of the forum. Ha!

You are correct. Calzaghe had said he was wanting the fight to Kessler and happy to go.
Yes Calzaghe had fought in Denmark previously. It was on the Tyson undercard. He was due to defend against A Echols but for some reason Echols didnt make it and a late sub was drafted in called W McIntyre

Btw a few late subs were drafted in for Joe over his career , like Hopkins circa 2002 they probably changed their minds once they saw tape of the guy .

    What are you talking about?

You've now mixed up 2 points from different conversations.

    1. Odin noted that Andre didn't travel. And I acknowledged that, but pointed out that Joe only travelled himself a handful of times, despite having 14 more fights.

    2. I've pointed out on many occasions that Joe wouldn't fight in the U.S. when he was YOUNGER, in order to try and obtain fights with the likes of Roy. I've also noted that he wouldn't move up to LHW either.
