Carl Froch Should Get Joe Cortez To Ref The Fight With Andre Ward

good idea, but what happens when andre ward adapts and changes tactics. boxes long range, lets froch come to him and picks him off like kessler. froch isn't good enough coming forward to do much.

 

Didn't you hear? Andre Ward picks the ref, judges and venue for his fights.

 

I doubt Froch really gives a **** who the ref is to be honest.

Let's not remember..... he's more than capable of dishing out the odd rabbit punch or leaving the forearm in :hey

Ward isn't a whiny ***** like Dirrell though and will respond in kind.

Can see this one being a real stinker if I'm honest.

 

I don't think it matters who the ref is either. Froch is a tough SOB and will give as good as he gets in terms of making it a hideous fight. For what it's worth, I imagine Froch to be the stronger of the two, he looks like he has a bigger frame, and I think he'll be stronger on the inside and will take Ward's game away from him by tossing him about.

 

Uhm you'd think that based on this fight, but then try watching Hopkins/Calzaghe and you'll quickly realize Cortez's style can be adapted to suit whichever style the American fighter has.

 

Beat me to it. Popkins-Calzaghe shows me that he'll let Ward get away with it.

If they get split up on the inside Ward will just switch up and box his ass from the outside with his jab and rack up the rounds

 

You seem to be forgetting Cortez hates Brits.

 

Thats what i was thinking, all this talk of him favouring Khan, i personally didnt see it,

1) point deduction- Maidana fckin got elbowed in the chest, he had no choice
2) breaking up the action- Khan would much rather have held of Maidana, even just his right arm as he was doing, taking body shots from a small swing, than a free Maidana swinging to have his head taken off, or even better, pushing on his head. Because Cortez broke it up, it caused a dazed Khan on his chicken legs trying to run and get out of the reach of the bombs.

 

Ward is overrated. Carl would beat him.
