    johnson is and old man now way past his best , yet he is by far the best opponent bute has ever faced, i mean ppl like bute are what i hate in boxing going an entire career facing electricians and fat injured old men whos claim to fame is being a contestant on the ''contender show'', and then fanboys come on here and claim hel beat elite fighters like froch etc with absolutely no evidence to support there case.

    the evidence comes from watching him fight. He has beaten plenty of decent names.

    Arh suppose your right all them masterful displays against Brinkley,Mendy there's no way someone like Grandpa Johnson can get near him even though Brian Magee landed on him a fair few times early.

    Bute's list of opponents is a disgrace..Johnson will land that right hand at times in the fight. Bute's got some nice moves but if he was a fighter of any worth he'd of faced tougher opponents by now and even this isn't the greatest step up but it's still a step up from the **** he's been facing.

    Saying Bute can't beat better opponents is like saying someone like BJS isn't going be able to beat top 10 domestic fighters.

    But we've seen enough evidence to suggest BJS can go at least further than domestic level and people would agree, but using the same analogy people wouldn't say Bute would beat better opponents than he already has.

    It's quite clear the he deserves a shout to be the top guy at super middleweight.

    BJS is a prospect and a young one at that, Bute holds a version of a world title and his fanboys claim he's the #1 at SMW. Clear difference no matter how much talent someone shows when he's doing it at a low level people are entitled to question if he's that good when he's fought not one real world class fighter. Bika is best operator on his record IMO and he's a fringe level operator who knows how to lose well against the world class fighters. Joppy was done by then and was never that great anyways..

    cumon now, like i said hes a good little fighter, but he has literally no notable wins on his resume, sakio bika, william joppy please! lol
    look at frochs more recent opponents: johnson, aa, kessler, dirrel, taylor, pascal.

    I thought Froch just beat Kessler or at worse a draw, and deserves to fight Ward for the honour as much as anyone else at 168. IMO.

    Thats different from ranking a fighter who you think could beat better opponents higher than someone who actually has beaten better oppponents.

    People don't currently rank Saunders over the likes of Barker, Mackin or Murray just because of potential. They rank the other guys higher because they have beaten better fighters than Saunders.
