When has Ward really giving anyone a "boxing lesson".? It's just an ignorance thing really because he is a decorated amateur, with some americans calling what he does on the inside ring smarts. Hatton does the same and he's called a dirty cheat. Ward is good, but jesus steady on. Telling you now, the 1st time Ward tries to trade up close with Froch wil be the last time, no way Froch lets any1 bully him in a fight.
ward is just another overated yank... if he beats Froch it'll be by the skin of his teeth (plus throw in some standard headbutts)....
difference between Pascal and Ward is Ward doesn't reach in with his punches nor smother his own work on the inside and leave his head dangling in the air Ward would engage inside with success and he would absolutely school Froch there
Not a hope Froch lets Ward beat him up in close, if he tried to tie him up which in effect is cheating, he would **** him to the ground like he did Dirrell. He would make it a very uncomfortable experience for Ward. Ward makes a glaring mistake when he jabs to the body and steps in and grabs the opponent around the waist, he is wide open to Froch's uppercut, which is one of his best punches.
When I say last couple of fights, I refer to Ward stepping up on class..he has shown a common trend of holding, butting etc on these fights and I include the Kessler fight on that analysis. Don't think people should get carried with fights prior to Kessler fight.. If they do then they should look at the fact Ward was dropped i believe at least once in those fights..
in-fighting doesn't consist of tying anybody up. what i like about Ward is that he knows how to get inside and he knows how to deliver punches in angles there. he's the best since Mayweather in that respect, though not as good. Froch is a laborer and completely lacks finesse. and he doesn't know how to in-fight. Ward brings a varied arsenal and i don't see Froch coping well with it. Ward is far too cagey to be hit by one of Froch's telegraphed uppercuts. that is one slow punch.
I just watched Ward Kessler and he didnt outbox him on the outside,he was losing the majority of the exchanges there,he was getting some joy running in throwing a couple of punches before holding to stop the counters and also catching him badly a couple of times with his head whilst doing that, but that was it.After the headbutts Kessler seemed to back up and thats when Ward boxed quite well but in the 9th round Kessler came back very strongly and once again Ward started running in headbutting and holding alot and in the 10th caught him badly again with a headbutt as he was running in to hold and stop Kessler punching. If Froch can avoid taking much punishment either punches or headbutt early he will have alot of joys later on in the fight,Ward's stamina is questionable also
I think ward will be on his toes and try to outbox Froch I certainly don't think he will use the inside game against froch. Not because froch is amazing there but he's better suited with rough house tactics than kessler and Green on the inside imo and very strong too. I see ward doing what dirrell did but in a more composed manner. Taylor outboxed Froch for 10 rounds Dirrell outboxed Froch Ward will outbox froch The main thing is speed froch will be hitting air all night like against dirrell. I actually think Froch's only hope is that Wards strategy is to make it a close up fight. I will be very surprised if ward's strategy is anything but staying on the outside countering.
What fight were you watching? Here it is right here: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhstJlK5XHE&feature=related[/ame] From the opening round plain as day Ward had the superior handspeed, using his stiff jab to keep Kessler at bay. When Kessler threw a punch, ward immediately would launch a one, two, or sometimes three punch combination to Kessler's face. Kessler couldn't even find Ward to hit most of the time. Is that your definition of "losing the exchanges there"? As I said, Ward completely dominated Kessler from the outside with superior handspeed and footwork.
Froch is an easy fight for no man. Period. Ward will need a career best performance to win this won. Froch will take him into deep waters and he will either sink or swim!!!
