Carl has a good chance IMO. Ward won't dominate him physically, far from it. Froch's leverage, jab, strong mentality, underrated footwork and reflexes will pose a lot of problems. Froch also has the best punch to catch Ward with, and that's an uppercut that comes from an unsual angle and other punches that come from underneath. Plus a great chin.

I think Froch would be the aggressor, that has advantages but thats also when he's most open and easiest to counter.

Froch hasnt been using that punch in a while now, and recently he been missing them widely.

yep thats the fight i was watching...1st rd.even nothing happened then in the 2nd Kessler started to chase him down and tagged him quite abit and started to dominate outside quite well, then around 20 seconds to go Ward hugged him and when Kessler tried to break free Ward tagged him with a couple of shots, from then on Ward only fought him on the inside.Don't get me wrong Ward is a very good inside fighter but outside he is not good, speed is nothing without timing he has'nt got it.

I agree on most of the above. However, by fighting the way he did against Bika whose rough reputation is well documented shows me that Ward is pretty much fearless in that department. If he and Froch get into anything like the fight against Bika, or against Green, it could be a war. Ward might still win because if superior handspeed and the fact that he just seems to be very aware in there, up close like that. Watching the Bika fight, he always seemed to be prepared. Anyway, I might still favor Ward in that kind of fight, but to me it greatly increases Froch's prospects of winning the fight if it goes down that way.

I agree with what you say about if Ward approaches it like Dirrell, except I would fully expect Ward to be far more aggressive, concerted and disciplined in his attack, although I don't think he has Dirrell's pop.

Sadly, Ward UD Froch. Sorry frotchboys..

Ward's rough tactics and inside-fighting will make Frotch looking at the corner for some help..

...watch the fight again. Ward dominated this fight from start to finish outside and inside

I would pick Ward by ud but you can never count froch out. Froch is an old school warrior who is never out of a fight.

I'm not biased....dont care for either fighter just saying how I saw it...Ward is def an inside fighter....he can try and pretend he has the outside boxing skills of a Dirrell but he has'nt,nowhere near.

ok. Ward isn't as effective as Dirrell on the outside but he does have better skills. i think you're selling Ward short here. i agree he's a good in-fighter, that's the area of his game i like the most.

I'm talking about top level fighters, compared to them he is not good on the outside. When he is in the trenches, say against Froch he will revert to inside fighting where he is more comfortable.I don't see him better than Froch on the outside.

In the midst of the discussion, one thing I do know is Ward vs Froch will be an awsome showdown, and when its all said and done, with all the pull outs, injuries, ect, the winner of these two will be the true king of the super six.

    Ward vs Froch

    Cant wait.

There is no way Froch beats Ward outside of a lucky punch. Ward is going to ruff up Froch on the inside. And even if it was just a boxing match, Ward would still win but Ward's all around game will be too much. Watch how badly Ward beats AA. He might get a TKO win late.
