carl froch has heart, has good power as well. he is a fighter, not the best but still a fighter. Do we want everyone in boxing to be the next floyd mayweather? should he be as versatile as an erick morales or barrera?

some fighters have the mechanical makeup to be brawlers/bangers, some are hybrid fighters, some are pure boxers.

froch didnt have a chance on paper with ward, but fighting is also about intangibles. as we saw with the lamont peterson fight, peterson's will was enough to trouble khan's natural speed. the carl froch vs ward fight presented a similar theme and as fan's we hoped for an exciting fight.

I think people overall overanalyze the fight game., especially on Eastsideboxing. The amount of hate and criticism for fighters are unjust. boxing is one of the hardest sports in the world. Therefore, I always respected Carl Froch, he is a warrior and i find this thread to be unjust considering that he leaves all that he has in the ring.

    Pascal did nothing at SMW

Dreadful of Ward to close up shop about fighting Bute :-(. Yes Froch was exposed a while back

Froch looked good against Abraham coming off a loss, but against Johnson it was only a Mdec win against a journeyman

Froch overachieved with his natural talent. He is a testament to will over skill. If you combined Carls mental strength with Dirells talent then you have the no1 SMW

No one expexted Froch to be competitive on points, but unlike many of Wards opponents he doesn't give up in the face of being clearly outboxed. He's been in that situation before and eventually ground down his opponents to get to them in the late rounds. No one had taken Ward to the late rounds while still having aggressive energy and self belief. The Froch performance was predictable but the last few rounds were a new test for Ward.

The **** are you talking about? Look at Ward when he won olympic gold, he was completely an outside fighter as that was the style in the amateurs at the time. You picked Froch... nuff said.

Froch is everything that is right about boxing. So he lost to Ward. Big ****ing deal. Every fighter should have a loss on their record so folks would stop giving a ****.

OK. So he would have won the "warrior prize" consisting of an well-built indian with a samurai sword in his right hand, Hydra's head in his left one, on top of a Panzer, all in gold.
... Unfortunately such a prize does not exist.

I have to agree with that, I watched with sky commentary on, and it was pathetic. Froch did some nice work to the body, landed shots to the head too and pressured Ward. It was actually a close fight, but the commentary was ridiculous. It largely ignored a lot of good work that Froch did. Ward didn't fade just like that, Froch's body work and pressure from the midway point started to take it's toll on Ward. A few more rounds and perhaps Froch would have got him as he was unravelling.

I have no problem with the fact that Ward won, he looked good during some parts of the fight, but in no way was that a schooling. Take a look at Ward's face too!!! It had scars of battle. Froch gave him a hell of a fight and deserves big big big credit.

Not just for the Ward fight but the fact that he took to the road and fought away in many of the fights.

True warrior and a very good fighter.
