It's a 50-50 fight for me. Would probably lean towards Froch based on his superior record and nothing else.... but I think Woods would fancy his chances. He's the better inside fighter of the two by a distance and would take Carl's shots without blinking.
Froch on points, Woods was street smart enough to stop Froch's sustained attacks which often lead to his stoppages. Froch is more skillful so takes it by 4rounds maybe.
There is more chance of Howard Webb giving a penalty against Man Utd at Old Trafford than there is of Froch putting a dent in Woods. Malignaggi stopping Hagler is about as likely.
Good thread, If the fights at SMW i feel Froch has the advatanges (Strength/Best Fighting Weight) and has the ability to get his work off and be awkward enough style to make Woods ineffective. Calling this fight without to much thought, but would edge for a Froch UD.
I think Clinton has a live chance in this Carl would get pretty frustrated fighting a guy that just walks through his punches.
Seriously, who voted for a Froch stoppage victory? He'd have more luck punching a sack of wet cement. However Woods moved like one at times and so Froch close ud.
I voted for Froch by knockout. Nobody thought he'd do what he did to Bute and I beleive the Froch of the Bute fight would knock anyone out in or around the super middleweight division. He was a man on a mission that night!!!
Froch on points for me. I really enjoyed those fights woods had with johnson, plus he came across as a really nice bloke, good to see someone retire about the right time.
Tough man was Woods, I remember Roy Jones blasting him for 6 rounds or so before it was waved off. Woods just kinda shrugged and said alright, you could tell by the way Roy was looking at him he was like, '**** youre game'
Heres an interesting one, Froch, Collins and Woods in a old school fight, round after round until someone is stopped in the 43rd or something ridiculous, who is the last man standing?
Good fight. Clinton was a class act and a bit underrated imo but I think Froch is a bit more relentless and judging by his past few performances, would be just a little too good.
clinton was a good un in a great era really, tough as ****,think froch would beat him on points though, better boxer all round. As much as woods was underrated,i think froch is vastly underrated, especially on this forum
