When Froch wins will we have to hear of how he did such a better job than Calzaghe in scoring the win? I would give Froch the mid round ko to hopefully set up a title shot if Kessler wins the big fight.

Pointless fight for Froch. He should be aiming higher than Reid at this point in his career. And I don't think even a peak Reid would have beaten Froch. Froch gets plenty of hate on here(I can understand that, although I'm a big fan!!) but I'm afraid that not liking someone doesn't de facto equate to them being no good!! Froch is VERY good

i don't think froch deserves a title shot for taking this fight. he won't deserve a title shot until he beats a top ten opponent imo.

the fights going to be pretty boring anyway.

To me, Foch is like Micky Ward, i.e. an average fighter with one great punch that will take him far in the sport.

Micky Wards left hook to the body was a killer blow that won him fights he would otherwise have lost.

With Froch, its his uppercut. He lands that clean? He takes his opponents out.

Some people will think my comparison is disrespectful to Froch, others will nod their head in agreement with my assesment.

Thats just my honest opinion, Carl Froch is an average fighter with a honeypunch. & before anyone thinks Im dissing Carl, read my post & understand what I am saying.

A honeypunch is no bad thing.

Froch has done well so far. When Calzaghe retires, he will be in the mix.

Froch is doing his best to get his name recognised by fighting Reid. But, it's a complete waste of time as it's a lose lose situation. I sated before that it was Froch who needed to fight Manfredo. Go to the states and beat the **** out of him, then Allan Green (always wanted to see that one) and whoever else. Beating the **** out of a shot Reid is not gonna do him any favours.

I like Froch alot he has impressed me alot so far, bit dissapointed with this fight but as long as he does a good job on Reid things are set up nicely for Carl i could see him being a having a World title shot in about 4 or 5 fights time if he keeps performing.

This is the thing though. He's already top 10. He shouldn't need 4-5 more fights to land a title shot. Inkin should be his next fight. A win their puts him at 4th behind JC/MK and Bute. Mundine has dropped off recently. Then all he has to do is chase after the winner of Bute/Berrio.

He is still talking about going for a European title first which would mean realistically 4 or 5 fights before a World title shot, if he bypasses the European title which i think he should he could do it within 2 or 3 fights after Reid. For me he beats Bute/Berrio and Mundine.

This being a pointless fight - my thoughts too! Froch has steadily grown on me in terms of his skills, arrogance, confidence and power.

Not sure why he hasn't been matched with ranked fighters by now?

Could you imagine the thrash talk in the lead up to a Froch v Mundine fight? It'd be worth PPV alone:yep

I'd pick Froch to starch Mundine after being outboxed for a while. If Bute's chin is any good, i'd pick him over Froch. Never seen Berrio although he apparently brings plenty of power to the table.
