I've said for a very long time that Froch would be a world champ and that he should avoid Kessler like the plague. i was right about the first bit and I suspect I will be proved right on the second part as I think he is made for Kessler. I'd expect it to look a bit like Kessler Andrade.

Something tells me that these words are a little bit hollow. Usually you get the feeling Froch means it but deep down, he really thinks Kessler is a bad man to face.

It'll all depend how good MK looks against Ward of course but if he dusts him off handily, Froch won't be taking his usual self confidence into the fight, believe you me.

Ward/Kessler has nothing to do with the outcome of this fight, styles make fights and Ward is all wrong for Kessler just as Kessler is all wrong for Froch.

i see what you're about maybe Carl getting a bit more confidence if Kessler is trashed by Ward, but Mikkel beats him everyday of the week and twice on sunday.

I didn't say anything about the outcome of the fight.

I don't know. Kessler hasn't really looked very good since the first 4 rounds against Calzaghe. He just seems easier to hit these days.

I'm not sure that is a terminal problem, probably related to lack of rounds. When he came back against Sartison it was off a real long lay off, started off poor and improved as it went on. He was not hit against Haussler who sucked. Then he struggled a little by his standards against Perdomo who was pretty awkward for a few rounds, again this was a longish lay off.

I think Kessler will be sharper if he gets 12 rounds in against a high quality fighter in Ward. As long as the Froch fight is earlyish next year I expect Kessler is be at his best.

This fight is a concern because he hasn't fought in good company for a long while and is facing quite a difficult style, as well what I perceive to be a lack of good preperation in sparring.

I hope so. That Perdermo looked like an awkward ****er in clips I saw before the Kessler fight and thought he might pose a few unconventional problems for Kessler. And you're right about his lack of activity. If both bring their best to the fight then Froch shouldn't get a look in.

The next couple of weeks could be make or break for Kessler now he's in the US looking for sparring. He needs to find some good matches.

Up til now he's been sparring a Lithuanian only referred to by one name, tried searching on Boxrec for him with no luck. I hate to be pessimistic but I don't think Lithuania has had a good fighter, like...ever. Much less one that could do a good impression of Ward, I find that hard to believe.

He needs some specific sparring for this fight or his timing which is so key could be thrown off completely.

I hope I am wrong, but Kessler UD for me.
I think Froch will have a better chance against Abraham.

Froch will need to if he is to win , there is no way he is going to out point someone as accurate as Kessler.

You never know I suppose , Froch can hit and anyone can go over if caught right but Kessler seems too good for him IMO.

I liike both guys a lot but I'll be cheering for Froch/

Froch hasn't got one punch KO power at this level like people seem to think. Never knocked down Pascal despite landing flush many times, the accumulation of big heavy punches combined with exhaustion stopped Taylor. He's got heavy hands and good power but it's not exceptional or even as good as Abraham or maybe Kessler even.

No argument here migo , Carl isnt the bomber he first appeared to be but he does hit hard enough ( and consistently enough through the 12 ) that he might get lucky.

I was trying to think of Kesslers fault and they aint many , he isnt exactly unpredictable and he doesnt move his head , and that's pretty much it as far as I can see. You never know though he may pull straight back and if he does I think froch hits hard enough that he could damage him.

No question though, Kessler hold the better cards and a Froch win would be pretty exceptional.

Kessler's also a big solid unit himself so he shouldn't be shifted easily if he does get tagged. I reckon if you've got a good solid fast jab, you can keep Kessler off you - Froch doesn't.

You're right , Froch does have a good jab but quick it aint and Kessler should be able to block most of them away.

The odds are no doubt against Froch thats why i said as unlikely as it may be a KO is ( to my mind ) Frochs only chance of victory. He can't dangle his left hand by his knee and expect to outpoint a pinpoint guy like Kessler.

all that said , it should be a good tussle though.

Kessler UD ( but fingers crossed for a Froch KO :D)
