He's not getting any younger, so needs to cut down on the tough battles and pay less caution to the wind. Otherwise, it will add detriment to his later rematches against Bute and Kessler.

He'll need every muscle in his body fully functional at 100% so easy pickings in between big fights makes the most sense. It's how the likes of JMM, Vitali Klitchsko and Bernard Hopkins have been able to stay apparent in boxing for this long.

Elite fighters bring out the best in him. It wouldn't suprise me if he actually lost to a weaker opponent.

 

Carl have a fight in Montréal agains't Bute in early 2013 , why take a risk and miss a big paycheck ?

It would surprise me very much if this guy beat Froch. He does raise (or lower) his game depending on who he's fighting, so it's possible he just goes through the motions here, en route to victory. Then again, he might like the idea of scoring another stoppage and try and take this guys head off.

No-one deserves an easy touch more than Froch though, so good luck to him.

As for this being a title fight, the sanctioning bodies will let anyone fight for a title as long as they get paid - that's as old as boxing itself.

Poulard is known in Quebec so maybe they think it could bring more peoples (if possible) fot the Bute-Froch 2 :think and Poulard is Pascal half brother so maybe Froch plan to have a a Froch-Pascal 2 in Quebec and milk the Quebec cash cow !
