Carl Froch vs Andre Ward RbR Thread!!!

    Guys need to chill out over Khan, he lost end of.

    Ward fought great fight tonight in a near shut out, Froch always a warrior tried his best, but the younger fresher fighter had all the answers.

    I think Froch should think about hanging them up now, he looked really slow tonight, and with his age won't get any faster now.

    Have you ever seen Froch fight before? He's never had fast hands, Ward made it seem worse but you've got to take into accoubt the level of opposition. There are still a couple of good fights there for Froch if he wants them, starting with a Kessler rematch unless he fancies something a little bit easier after the run he's had.

    I wish I could say the same. There is a lot in what Ward does that is very interesting and clever but he uses so many negative tactics that I can't see him being a top PPV attraction.

    As opposed to getting exited about watching him fighting I think he will stink out arenas in the way Hopkins has.

    Watched alot of Froch, to me he seemed even a tad bit slower tonight, then again Ward has fast hands to, but he even said Froch seemed slow to him from the tapes he has seen of him.

    What's negative about Ward's tactics? He occasionally holds on but no more than others. His inside work isn't negative at all, and what's negative about countering and not getting hit on the outside? :huh

    No he said they didn't expect Froch to be as slow as he looked on tape but it turned out he was. He hasn't slowed down, his lack of hand speed was exagerated by Ward who in contrast has very fast hands, quick feet and is difficult to hit.

    Anyway yes I agree with you, but to me but Froch looked off pace and easy to read.

    Again maybe because Ward was just that bit better than Froch in most areas tonight, and boxed near perfect.

    An easy win for Ward in the end, though credit to Froch for his post fight comments.

    Froch put up a far better fight than Kessler, though he just wasn't good enough to match Ward's style.

    A rematch with Kessler would be a great fight, or even a go at Bute.

    At 34 though, it's quite possible he's already slowing despite his general lack of activity throughout his career. Sure, Ward limited him tonight, but even looking at the Kessler fight, Froch's workrate seems to be on the slide. It's a shame we didn't see him on the scene earlier. Sure, I'm not saying he's not limited, but at SMW being 34+ (this isn't the HW division) is hardly ever an advantage baring for a very few fighters.

    How would Froch do against Bute?

    Have not watched too many Bute fights but isnt almost as fast as Ward?

    He leans in with his head down, spoils and holds. He held on to Froch a lot and puched him around the ring.

    I won't be the only person that says this. Ward is slick and awkward but he isn't a fighter that will draw big PPV numbers. Hopkins had the same problem.

    Very difficult to maintain your work rate when you're getting countered, beaten to the punch and being forced to stop and reset constantly though. He decided to go for it in the last couple of rounds and showed that it was still there.

    Ward did what was expected of him.

    Froch gave a good effort but he knew he was being beaten comprehensively for the first time.

    It was a great performance of skill from Ward, who showed a lot of class in there.

    The last two were tight, could've easily scored it a whitewash, but Frochy did just a little more work in those two rounds as Ward looked to kick back just a bit.

    I think Froch should look for a big battle of Britain with Cleverly myself.

    I just don't think he'll be able to get the required big money fights at super middle now. Sure who of note will fight him? With all due respect to Carl, he now has no title, and is probably too big of a risk for a champion to fight.

    Bute will avoid him, Kessler has already beaten him, and I'm sorry, but Ward won't give him a rematch either, and why should he??

    He'd make more money with a cleverly fight than anything right now imo
