Mike McCallum said the way to beat Eubank was to stay in his face and keep the pressure on him , i think the same goes for Hopkins, dont give him time to think keep it on him constantly like Calzaghe did, thats Frochs best chance of winning

A proposed bout between Hopkins and Froch was mooted after the Froch-Pascal fight at a catchweight of 172lb and Froch wanted nothing to do with it because he felt Hopkins would have too much of an advantage.

Froch's primary asset is his mental toughness and verbal banter. Hopkins is better at both things than Froch.

Hopkins would bring it in a nasty fashion to Froch.

You need athletecism to beat Hopkins, meaning power and a decent jab (think Jermain Taylor)

Like somebody said Frochs skills are there, as Tarver has pointed out too. Long before the Abraham fight i forever stated that Froch has a good jab but didnt use it effectively, then did so in that fight, he was the boxer in the Johnson fight he was the counter puncher if he fights Hopkins he must be the aggressor.
Yeah i know loads will say thats just what hopkins would want, but others didnt have the skills to do so , pavlik, pascal etc they did not put real sustained pressure on Hopkins, but Calzaghe did, Calzaghe counter controlled the fight. Froch must do the same, if he can adapt per fight then maybe he can if he fights Hopkins. Its a tough call overall

Here's what would happen: Hopkins would do a lot of moving and Froch would get frustrated and start opening up where he leaves himself wide open for counters and run right into Hopkins' traps.

    Hopkins UD

I don't think that Froch could look good in this fight

If that is the case I disagree with Froch. Hopkins is not exaactly huge himself, Froch would definitely be the bigger man in the ring at 172 or 175.

Froch isn't a big SMW , uselly if i remember is already making the SMW limits 1 weeks prior to his fights. He will be the stronger man though

Just because he makes it easy doesn't mean he cant be considered big for the weight, because his frame certainly is. He would be a beast at 175 I'm convinced. Despite both Froch and Hopkins having the same stats Froch would deifnitely be considered the bigger and stronger in that fight.

make sense but i was assuming that if you make weight 1 week prior to the fight is because your natural weight is close to this weight. I don't see the utulity to make weight 1 week before and suffer to keep that weight.

BTW i only notice this before the Pascal fight , i don't know if it's always like this ?

I think Froch walk around at about 175, thats why he is so strong at 168 fighting. I dont know how often he makes the weight a week before a fight though. It seems unlikely that it would be a common occurrence simple because he can train at his natural weight for longer and still cut the extra few lbs easily.

Why would anyone want to fight Hopkins?

You win and you've just beat a man who's pushing 50.

You lose and ...well you lost.

Froch if anything has improved since the Jean Pascal fight who he won a points verdict which Hopkins recently won against Pascal also,so, imo Hopkins just scrapes a 12 rd points win against Froch. And thats being generous.

i hate cocky brits, but Froch wins this

Froch beat Pascal better than Hopkins did, he beat pussyfightin Dirrell with that style we all know Froch got trouble with, fight was close but Froch still beat him

Froch handled Abraham more impressively than Andre Ward

WTF more does Froch have to do. he wins against all types of style of fighters, doesnt matter if he has trouble with guys that can move, bottom line he does enough to win

Froch handles old dogface Hopkins in a close fight. Hopkins will get beat up
