During this time Froch was approaching 40 years old and was retired for about a year. This fight was in talks though . Let's say this fight would of happened. Who would of won?
I love me some Froch, but I think GGG has too much for Froch to beat him, both have chins, both can throw bombs, but GGG has more skills, and different weapons to beat Froch, don't think either guy gets KOed but GGG on decision.
As much as froch was derided for his too big too strong post I do think he might have had a point. Naturally bigger man... 5inch reach advantage. Good chin, great stamina and good power. I'd actually edge towards froch.. GGG has been brilliant but I do think he's fought some weak opposition..
He beat a prime roided up Canelo whilst past his own prime, nobody looks close to matching that with current Canelo, albeit some skullduggery
GGG is levels above Froch in boxing skills and toughness. GGG is better at everything Froch does. GGG has a better chin as well. GGG decision but wouldn’t rule out a stoppage. Can’t see Froch winning.
If Groves can put him on **** street and keep him there for 6 rounds then GGG by brutal KO. Having said that, I do see GGGs reluctance to ever move up almost as admission that he feels he might have been undersized at super middleweight
If we're talking about the 40 year old version of Froch then I think he gets a brutal pasting and gets stopped late. There are very very few boxers in history that can still hang at the highest level at that age and Froch is not one of them. Prime for prime would be much more interesting; I still think Golovkin wins due to the stylistic matchup and his versatility but that would be much closer.
Whats the point in matching GGG against a 40 Froch who retired at 38. Prime Froch had reach and size to take his jab away. 5 inch reach advantage for means means Golovkin would be at the end of a jab for once. Once the battle of the jabs was lost it would be smooth sailing for Frochy
