Be hurt and kod. No one immune to being knocked out. We have different punch resistence, but no one is immune.
The worse thing about Froch not dominating is The Ring will decide their is no need to remove the likes of Broner and Canelo from the P4P ratings :-(
Any lasting effects won't be evident until his next fight. He did take some brutal shots and you have to wonder after a while how much of a toll its going to take on him.
The fact he didn't hit the deck from the 2nd round on proves its stronger than ever. Marquez got dropped 3 times in round one vs PAC...look how things have turned out. Silly question. Froch is still the champ!
Yep agree with you there. man he's had such a tough hard career, traveling all over the place and taking back to back hard fights with only a few fillers in there since the Pascal fight. Really should be thinking about hanging them up. he's done very very well. He should try and fight Ward and retire, win or lose, give it one last big effort. Don't want him to go on too long and suffer damage. Just fight Ward and cash out his chips, whilst he's still got his faculties intact. Not getting any young, and it's not lke he's a defensive master like Floyd who doesn't get hit, he's been hit loads, gotta be having an affect. Got a nice family, kids, wife etc, he should be thinking now of life away from the ring.
'that is a granite jawline, he got caught cold, and proceeded to take big shots the rest of the fight while getting stronger' Not often I post here any more but that quote is worth repeating. It's never about how you start a fight, it's how you finish it. Sadly the ref robbed us and Froch of a possible KO, which may have messed up Groves' career.
As soon as he let Carl start backing him up I knew he'd get in trouble, he had the respect off Froch to hold the centre of the ring and even back him up. Froch was certainly shocked by the power of Groves, he was on the verge of being out to sleep
Even if he had, seems there was a decent chance that he would have lost an MD or SD, given how close the scorecards were-and, if Froch had managed to keep his foot on the gas for another couple of rounds. Appalling stoppage though. I don't want to see anyone take unnecessary punishment, but this is boxing-you can't waive fights off at the earliest sign of trouble; Groves deserved better, and it did no good for Carl's 'proud warrior' image, either.
Yes the stoppage was bad but he wasn't going to make it the full 12 rounds. Carl can act like an ass but he never quits and tries towards the last bell and all credit to him for not giving up.
