He is, tellingly, spending his idle time in the gym.

    This is from today: http://tinyurl.com/pjmdrn5

Froch has been doing friendly sparring with super heavyweight Karl Beard, a semi-pro contender in white-collar boxing leagues.

Beard stands at six-and-a-half foot and 16 or more stone (225lbs+) and spars with Anthony Joshua as well.

Likely date is March 28th, to air live on Sky.

If he decides to ditch the belt and go after paydays with Chavez Jr., Kessler or Golovkin - Froch will leave his IBF 168lb title up for grabs with DeGale facing Andre Dirrell for it this spring instead.

There are talks of DeGale then, if successful either way, making his first defense this summer in a rematch with Groves.

Hmm. I hope they do fight but Froch is no spring chicken.

I'm sure he'll take the fight for pride if he doesn't get Chavez Jr.

    I got Degale on points.

Froch won't have fought in ten months, and only fought once last year.

DeGale on the other hand was very active in 2014, recording three stoppages of decent opposition.

    An easy fight to underestimate.

With different judges he could quite easily be unbeaten.

The reward factor can't really be high enough though surely. Whilst I can't see Froch vacating his title is can't see him facing DeGale. Somewhat of a paradoxical situation.

If I had to guess I'd say Froch pays step aside money then retires after crushing Jr.

I'm not interested in this fight.

Froch has just had two domestic fights, I want to see him in with someone well established.

What has DeGale done to earn a shot anyway?

Froch should just retire, he has nothing left to prove anymore.

I think ref steps in to save DeGale. Though he should vacate, let the young ones fight over the belt and have a nice evening at Vegas.

But saying that i think he wants 1 more before he finishes and if he cant secure a fight he wants over in America then he will look elsewhere, so you never know if he cant find anything he wants and DeGale gets in his face he may wana shut him up.

Similar to froch vs groves. Froch gets him late, when degale wants to be flash on the ropes.

So you expect Froch to win then?
