www.rds.ca (french) According to Jean bedard (manager of Lucian bute Interbox) : Bédard has serious discussions with Showtime to present the fight in Montreal in May. Also he said that the first plan was to present the fight on March 19th with the fight of Bute-Magee. but Froch was sick around Cristmas and he stopped his training a little. So now they target the month of May for the fight in Montreal Bedard said that he believes in his chances very much
If Kessler or Dirrell aren't available for Bute to fight in the summer, and because this will most likely be a close fight, Bute fighting the loser in August/September makes sense as I don't see who else would qualify.
The Montrealers wouls be very proud to welcome the fans from England and America! you will see : Montreal in May: Awesome city !!! The nightlife is unbelievable !!
I will be fishing in May dammit, I'd like to see this one for sure. I'm a big Froch fan since his fight against Pascal.
heres the thing with the super six . as long as its a netrual site. THAT GREAT perfect montreal it is sign it date it make it official before sumone changes there mind.
aie The Man of Michigan You seems to laugh of us because of our English Can tou try to write in Franch than...assh..
Just out of interest, what would the feeling towards Froch be? He beat Pascal but it was a great fight and both guys showed respect to each other after. Would the fans be more favoured towards Froch because of this? Or is he disliked because he beats Pascal?
Pretty sure the general consensus is that Froch is a real warrior, like it or not. He'd be cheered up as much as Johnson would, being Bute's long time sparring partner. Both fighters would get local support in this one, even more so if it's bombs away in the mid rounds or something.
Hello Jack, It's just my opinion, but because of the great fight they gave for us, because Froch as been a true gentleman after the fight like Pascal. They both gave alot of credit to eachothers. I think Froch would be very popular in Montreal and his warrior style in a the ring is something to see!! About the fight against Pascal, Jack did you ever watch it again? I think the judges scores was terribly bad. I have no problem with people saying Froch was winning, but no way he won 118-110 and 117-111... It was terrible to see a score like that, you can clearly see that it helps alot fighting in your own town. I had 115-113 for Froch I think with the sound, what was your score back in the day? I'm sure some round would be switch able with no sound... What do you think buddy?
Thanks for the answers, guys. Canadian's are good people, which is why I'd be happy to go there to see Froch. It looks like a fantastic boxing scene you have at the moment and I hope it carries on :good I just wondered because sometime, when a hometown fighter gets beaten, the guy who beat him is disliked for it. I'm glad Froch wouldn't be though. As for Froch/Pascal, I agree, I thought the scores were too wide. Pascal won more than two rounds, without question. I'd have it 8-4 or 7-5 to Froch. It was a close fight but a clear win in the end. Pascal just needed to be more active but it was a great fighter and one where I gained a lot of respect for both men. Could Lemieux be on this card too? I'd love to see him in person. I'm not sure if he's with the same promoter as Bute but a card with Bute, Froch, Johnson and Lemieux would be amazing.
