Lemieux isn't with the same promoter as Bute. He could be on the card anyway, but he is supposed to fight Rubio in April and his promoter (GYM) usually has an outdoor event in June for the Formula 1 Grand Prix. So it's unlikely that Lemieux will be on the Froch-Johnson undercard. Sorry.
That's a shame. Rubio is the perfect opponent for him at this stage. Should be another knockout but one over a legit fighter.
I was thinking of heading to Montreal for Bute but may wait for a couple of months and see this fight instead. No doubt the great fans in Montreal would support this. Great choice for location IMO
Well... not gonna be loved IMO. He said things like: we will see who is the best 168 and i asure you it isn't Bute. He beat Pascal. And Johnson is Bute's sparing partener his friend and a true gent. So...
IMO, people who'll go see the fight are Pascal fan for the most part. And they don't care about cocky fighters as long as they are warriors. They're not little pussies (not saying Bute fans are but some of them think being confident is the worst sin ever).
After he beats Rubio in the eliminator, and because Chavez Jr already told Yvon Michel he wouldn't fight David (re: Michel talks about Rubio negotiations, Nov), watch him struggle to get a WBC title shot. Michel might give a call to the other belt holders, but are they seriously gonna be excited about the matchup? Nope. Sorry for the slight thread hi-jack. No worries about the -potential- Froch-Johnson undercard. They're big enough for either promoter to stick some quality fights in there.
Tyson Fury could be on it, I suppose. He called out the Canadian champion, didn't he? Seems to be a fight he's interested in and, as a Hennessy fighter, it would make sense.
I love Glen but Froch has a lot of skill. I really think this is gonna be a battle of skill more than a battle of will. These are both fighters who have always willed their ways to victory, however i expect this to be quite a technical border-lining intellectual boxing match between two highly skilled masters of their craft. glen a lot older but has great stamina and will be working Frochs torso from round 1 to get the hands to eventually drop. Froch is gonna counter and walk Glen down while consistantly touching Glens head and grill. I think it's gonna be a close decision favoring Froch. Glen is a bit older now and I think he may not have the stamina later rounds if he gets hurt. But, than again?
I'll be there Glen Johnson was there ringside in quebec city for the Pascal fight. I don't know if they showed him on TV?
Tyson Fury was on the undercard of Pascal's last fight in Quebec city, not very impressive though. But maybe yea he will fight the Canadian champ, makes sense
dude, you are not even from around here. Froch has earned the respect of the fans here. So has Glen Johnson. Both are loved. Pascal has nothing but good things to say about Froch in every interview, and vice versa
