Carl Froch vs. Lucian Bute [anticipated] RBR

Round 1

Froch immediately takes the center of the ring with Bute on the backfoot circling right. Froch jab to the head, misses. Another jab to the head, partially connects while Bute counters with a right hook. Froch jabs, Bute blocks one and dodges the rest moving his head. Froch still the aggressor. Low activity, range finding round.

10-9 Froch


Round 2

Bute comes out whipping the jab, connects to the head. Froch flurries after a second Bute jab lands, mostly blocked Bute retreating. Froch cautiously comes forward, throwing a jab with every other step. Froch right cross! Single shot, Froch didn't throw in combination. Bute jab, and right hook land to the head. Froch misses with a wild right uppercut. Froch jabs, countered by a right hook once again. Bute jab, left hook to the gut. Quickly moves out of range, Froch missing with jabs.

Round 3

Froch lets off the gas pressure wise, keeping a greater distance between him and Bute. He literally walks out of range, observing Bute subtle head movement. Bute now comes forward and back with up jabs to the chest, keeping low while Froch relentlessly tries to land long jabs on Bute's chin. Jab, uppercut to the ribcage by Bute! Lands a right hook on Froch stepping away. Froch comes back with the right hand, misses. More jabs, one of them lands on Bute's forehead. Straight left hand lead by Bute, snaps Froch's head back! Froch smirks, the crowd roars. Froch misses with a straight right, clinch.

29-28 Bute


Round 4

Some more Froch jabs, most of them missing high or to the left of Bute's head. Froch 1-2, right hand goes through the guard. Bute jabs, right hook lands. A bit of swelling under Bute's right eye. Hard straight left by Bute! Soft jab, right hook! Left uppercut to the chin misses, Froch comes back with slaps, only one of them lands near Bute's right ear. Bute lands two jabs. Another Froch jab misses, HARD overhand left by Bute, Froch backs up a couple steps! Bute jabs, right hook connects again! Froch tries to jab him off and misses, Bute lands with up jabs to the chin. Some blood coming out of Froch's nose.

39-37 Bute


Round 5

Bute now clearly the aggressor, Froch trying to control range with the longest jabs he's got. Froch blocks a Bute right hook but misses with a straight right, clinch. Bute lands 3 out of 4 jabs thrown almost consecutively. Froch feints with the jab and throws a right hand to the body, lands just over Bute's belt. Bute now with both hands down, moves his head to lure Froch in. Froch jab, uppercut misses, clinch. Ref separates them, Bute almost jumps forward with a straight left that lands on Froch's guard, left hook to the body! Still ribcage I think. Bute jabs away, Froch misses with another wild, long straight right.

49-46 Bute


Round 6

A bit less movement from both fighters, they circle slowly within the center of the ring. Froch lands a snapping jab. Bute feints a big left, lands a right hook flush on Froch's left cheek! Froch flurries with hooking slaps, Bute covers up, back up, now in the ropes! Froch shoeshines to the body, cuts the tempo a little bit and tries to lean on Bute still in the ropes! Another set of hooks to the body by Froch! BIG UPPERCUT BY BUTE, LANDS ON FROCH'S CHIN! FROCH WOBBLES BACK!! Bute jabs him, throws a big straight left, connects only partially. Bute jabs, left uppercut to the body lands on Froch's elbow. Straight left snaps Froch's head back again! Right hook! Froch throws jabs and misses with all three of them.

59-55 Bute


Round 7

Froch's nose is still bleeding, and now the left side of his face looks a bit puffy. Froch comes forward in brawl mode, actually chasing Bute as the Romanian/Canadian jabs on the backfoot. Froch throws a 1-2, lands on guard, clinch. Froch blocks Bute's jabs. Big Froch right hand misses, clinch. Bute lands a right hook, one of the very few punches he's thrown in this round. More jabs from Froch, one of them landing on Bute's left temple. Lower workrate for both of them in this round, Froch might have won it with the aggressive jab.

68-65 Bute


Round 8

Bute's right hand is way down by his hip, he dodges two jabs but gets caught by the third one. Straight left on Froch's guard by Bute. They're still not moving around much, occupying the center of the ring mostly backing up a couple steps to each other's initiatives. Froch throws a 1-2, Bute ducks and steps away. Some jabs by Froch, BUTE OVERHAND LEFT! Froch isn't throwing anymore, Bute lays out the jab as a measuring stick, Bute straight left to the head!! BIG BUTE UPPERCUT TO THE BODY, FROCH TAKES A KNEE!!!!!! Froch beats the count, not much left in the round. Bute throws a sp 1-2, Froch covers up and blocks it.

78-73 Bute


Round 9

Froch slowly comes forward, Bute takes small steps and slowly circles to Froch's left. Froch jabs, misses. Bute lands a jab and right hook, Froch lands a right hook to the body, clinch. Froch jabs, throws a right cross, Bute counters with a left hook to the body! Another one! They get tied up. Bute throws soft jabs. Big straight left!!! Left hook to the body!! Clinch. Bute comes right back, hard jab, LEFT UPPERCUT TO THE BODY, FROCH DOWN!! BARELY BEATS THE COUNT! REF WAVES IT OFF, IT'S OVAH!!!!

...meanwhile, ringside, a shady individual that looks a bit like SJS19 tries to climb up the ring with -OMG- one of those knives they use to cut carpet, yelling out "Bute must die!". A man in the crowd intercepts him by throwing a chair.
