Carl's tweets from the past day seem to imply that he'll be fighting for the IBF title in the UK. :happy:happy:happy First he declares that it 'Looks like my next one (fight) is gonna be for the IBF World Title', and then in response to a question about the whereabouts and the possibility of a showdown on neutral territory, he asserts confidently 'This ones in the UK!' What are we to make of this? Has Carl a misplaced faith in Matchroom's capabilities? Or has Hearn delivered for his man? Furthermore why no explicit mention of Bute himself?
Apologies. I did not see that another poster had already started a thread on this topic. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=379951
Agreed. Would take a monster offer from Eddie. Would have to be a big stadium etc which in all honesty, i still don't think Froch would fill. I doubt Anyone apart from Hatton or Calzaghe could fill a massive football stadium in the last 10 years. Maybe Haye but i doubt it myself. This fight will be in Montreal surely?
Bute might be getting leant on by Showtime to vacate, if the IBF are wanting Froch involved. The new team at Showtime might not be so willing to spend money on European fighters the way that Herschman was.
Bute vacates to fight an American on Showtime with a view to fighting Ward next. Froch v Andrade or Abraham for The IBF? Just speculating but IBF still rate Abraham highly!
Forest's last home game is the weekend before. Do we think they're planning for this to be at the city ground? Can't be a coincidence that May 5th date.
If thats the case they better hope Forest don't scrape playoffs, otherwise they're ****ed. Just remembered Forest are relegation candidates. Doh.
The IBF's 168lb ratings on their official site: Champion: Lucian Bute NOT RATED NOT RATED Edwin Rodriguez (United States) Arthur Abraham (Germany) Carl Froch (United Kingdom) Librado Andrade (United States) Thomas Oosthuizen (South Africa) George Groves (United Kingdom) Anthony Dirrell (United States) Pablo Farias (Argentina) :think
