Carl Froch vs Mikkel Kessler: How'd you score it?

    1. Carl Froch - Froch' jab is more powerful and lands the only meaningful punch of the round. Clear Froch round.

    2. Carl Froch - Close round. Felt Froch's jab was a little bit harder and landed at a higher rate however. Close round. Could have gone either way.

    3. Carl Froch - Froch cant miss with his jab. Lands some nice combinations including an uppercut to finish the round. Clear Froch round.

    4. Mikkel Kessler - Kesslers jab for once is the superior of the 2. Froch starts showboating for no reason. Kessler lands a 3 punch combination to end the round. Close round. Could have gone either way.

    5. Carl Froch - Froch has abandoned getting off first with his jab which was dominating the fight before.. He's brawling with Kessler, but even though Kessler is supposedly the tighter compact more technically sound fighter, Froch is still winning the exchanges. For the first 2 minutes this round was going to Kessler, but Froch landed way too many big punches to give it to Kessler. Clear Froch round.

    6. Mikkel Kessler - Froch isnt getting off first with his jab. He's fighting Kesslers fight, trading combinations. Kessler lands a few good combos catching Froch against the ropes and again towards then end of the round. Not very impactful punches though. Clear Kessler Round

    7. Mikkel Kessler - Is Froch fatigued already? Froch is just walking around the ring, pumping a lazy jab, and some weak combinations. Kessler is still compact, direct and to the point with his punches. Clear Kessler Round

    8. Mikkel Kessler - Froch getting his ass whooped now. Kessler stuns Froch with a right. Froch is giving this fight away at this point. Clear Kessler Round.

    9. Carl Froch - Froch is fighting Kesslers fight still. But seems to have found some range. Froch lands several uppercuts and left hooks, and a nice straight jab that sends Kessler into the ropes. Clear Froch round

    10. Carl Froch - Froch is winning the exchanges. Seems to have found the correct distance. Kessler also seems to be bothered my the cut over his eye. Froch lands the biggest punch of the round a left hand that sends Kesslers head snapping back and into the ropes. Clear Froch Round.

    11. Carl Froch - Round was close as **** for most of it. But Froch goes a little bit harder down the stretch, lands so clean punches to take a round where both men landed big shots and traded evenly for the majority of it. Carl Froch Close but Clear Round.

    12. Mikkel Kessler - Closest round of the fight. Gave to Kessler because he pushed Froch against the ropes twice and Froch pushed him against the ropes once. Close Kessler


    115-113 Carl "So easy a Caveman could do it" Froch.

    Exactly. Anybody who had it 8 rounds to Kessler doesnt know what the hell they are doing when they watch boxing.

    You did not notice any of Kesslers body shots? I dont think you did.

    Kessler worked with body shots from round 1 to 5.

    My scorecard is gone but I think the only difference between our scorecards was that I scored round 3 for Kessler and round 12 for Froch if I remember correctly. Thought Kessler was looking very tired and that Froch was hitting him with cleaner shots. Even though Kessler did dig deep, I thought he was still more affected. The earlier rounds were definitely a little closer, but I thought Froch closed the show and won those final rounds to seal the fight. I hate Froch, and wanted Kessler to win.

    Dont like Froch either. But he was winning the exchanges and for the first 5 rounds his jab couldnt miss.

    6-5-1 Kessler. Only scored it once (on second viewing). Could have gone either way from my perception. I remember saying that over on the Brit forum, and some dude came in and attacked me for saying it was close and Froch could have won, and then he told me he scored it 10-2 for Kessler.

    So I guess you score a fight mostly based on jabs?

    Btw pretty stupid to include "Kessler got a gift" as a poll option. If you think Froch won then it is pretty safe to assume you think Kessler got a gift decision.

    I had it 114-114, the fight was very close though and I can't argue with 115-113 either way. Anything greater than that though is dodgy.
