What's this obvious reason and when did the above happen?

"I'm not chasing Roy Jones" agreed Joseph Calzaghe (direct quote).

argue against that, fanboy. now everyone watch the fanboy try to defend his idol by arguing against the words of that idol. like a dog chasing his tail.

Dumbest thread ever. Prime Roy kills Froch. Froch doesn't land a punch. KILLS.

How is "not chasing" the same as running from?

Was Roy Jones chasing Calzaghe? Because if not he must have been running from him according to your logic.

why will pfp the best fighter in the world be chasing some guys with a WBO trinket? Until 2005 no one outside of Wales knew who Calzaghe was, so why will Jones be chasing him?

What kind of question is that? How the hell should I know? Follow the discussion, I was making a point that 'not chasing' is not the same as 'running from'.

He was the lineal champ, you know.

Anyway, this is not a Joe Calzaghe thread. Posters have not been able to in a rationel way explain how Roy Jones Jr would beat Carl Froch. "Roy is Jesus reborn" does not qualify.

I favor Froch to win. Jones Jr lack the tools if he gets backed up. Also, his chin was never the best. If Froch is able to land a good one he should be able to capitalize.

Is there something in the water that you guys drink over there in UK, because the kind of thing I hear from some of you makes me scratch my head.
If Calzaghe was the lineal champ what does that make Dariusz Michalczewski?
I don't even wanna argue with. Have a goodnight or morning. whatever the fock the time is over there.:patsch

Considering you Americans have Ward among your boxers, the bitterness consisering Calzaghe makes little sense. Especially since we all know Jones Jr and Hopkins was no longer at their absolute best when Calzaghe did a number om them.

But a goodnight or morning to you as well.

    Surely a joke?

What do you need explaining to you?

Roy had superior footwork, speed, skill, power, reflexes and shot variation etc.

Once again, the word 'IF' is the biggest word in the dictionary.

Yes, IF Carl had've landed flush, then Roy would have been in trouble.

But go and watch Roy when he was 25-26, and tell me how Carl would/could have landed a shot like he did on Groves?

    It would never have happened.

Roy would have beaten him easily, and then probably wouldn't have received an ounce of credit from the critics.

I believe I explained it a page back...

Roy is a far superior fighter than Carl Froch, end of story..

Roy lacks the tools if he gets backed up?? Wow, now I have heard it all.. Roy was extremely dangerous moving backwards, I have doubts about your knowledge of prime Jones Jr.. You seem to be explaining the Jones Jr of 2004 on...

Many fighters Roy fought could have beat him IF they landed a big shot, many had the power to do it, and were more skilled than Froch but couldn't do it... Not to mention Jones' own power and speed.. Roy would have worked Carl's body too, which can break down an iron chin in the late rounds..

I think Roy would have made Carl look B level, like many other of his opponents..

You would favor Carl? You say that pretty lightly.. Had Carl been around at SMW when Jones was prime and won, it would have been one of the biggest upsets in boxing history.

Wow what version of Jones are you talking about ? Its clear you haven't watched a prime Jones who, could fight off the ropes ,fight backing and was basically un-hittable at times .
