you cant rule out froch landing the right punch, but it would be a lucky punch, andrjj would take the rematch.

whereas calzaghe wuld never land the right punch, he didn't have it, so he would always lose to roy.

    There was a HUGE difference.

A peak 25 year old Roy, vs a 35 year old, who'd just been knocked out by Tarver, who hardly trained for Johnson.

Let's be real, Glen would have been lucky to have won a round against the 94/95 version of Roy.

Roy was like a zombie in 2004.

Coach Merk, Roy's father, and respected sports writer Thomas Hauser, have all stated that Roy hardly trained for the fight.

He signed for the fight just weeks after the Tarver fight.

It's clear that he wanted to jump into the ring ASAP to eradicate the loss to Tarver.

Glen was in the right place at the right time.

All you have to do is go and watch Roy from 1994/1995 then watch the fight with Glen.

Go and watch, and you'll see two completely different fighters.

I don't see what difference it would have made had Roy fought those guys.

He fought and beat guys that were better or equal to those you've listed.

He would have beaten Carl easily.

I can't believe how many pages this thread has got to.

I like Carl, but I'm sat here scratching my head.

The version of Roy at 25/26 that I saw, would have gone through Carl like he was a nobody.

As I mentioned earlier, your talking about a drag race between a VW and a Lamborghini.

Forget the 80,000 at Wembley, the knockout of Groves and the last ten years of Roy's career.

Roy was on another planet in his prime.

Very few fighters will ever some close to beating RJJ in his prime...and Froch is definitely NOT one of them.

This is silly. Roy would have killed the Brit in his prime.

A prime Roid Jones would probably have beaten Froch as long as he did not get caught with a wild punch..............

Despite his spectacular KO over Groves, lets not forget that he was getting outboxed in both fights by Groves. Lets not forget he was getting outboxed by Taylor before a miraculous KO in the last seconds of the 12th round. He lost nearly every round against Ward. Lets not forget he had competitive fights with Kessler where he lost one of them and last but not least lets not forget he arguably lost to Direll but we cut him some slack because the fight was so boring that nobody wants to remember it.

Jones would of been able to run around him ala Richard Hall.

At LHW I would favour Jones, but at SMW and in Britain, I would favour Froch
