There is some truth to this, the honeymoon period will wear off, he's the golden boy at the moment but lets see if thats the case this time next year, I somehow doubt it.
A shame it's not against Kessler but I didn't really see any other realistic fight. No way could Hearn think about making a fight Froch could potentially lose, not before the Bute fight. Will Carl have made that much money against Bute, I think possibly not, with the purse they'd have had to give him to get him over here. THe money spinner for Froch I think will be the return in Canada; and he deserves it. I have no problem with the fight as a 'keep busy' fight before the Bute return. My only problem is if it's sold as a proper legitimate fight, which by the pricing appears to be the case. This is when boxing loses credibility and puts off casuals who knew no better! Stack the undercard Eddie!
BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA- BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA- BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA-BIKA! He said he'd take the fight too but maybe Hearn thought it too dodgy and got scared. Mack's a terrible opponent. Atleast most casual fans know who Bika is!
He's decent, nothing too special. If I had to sum him up I'd say he has decent skills but the intangibles have kept him from being a titlist. He can be slick...but he's not as slick as he thinks he is. He typically has shown terrible stamina in big fights (two of his KO losses were based strictly on sheer exhaustion). He really struggles with pressure fighters with a good chin....he just doesn't manage them well (he doesn't stick to the gameplan, he gets caught in firefights easily, stays in the pocket too long, doesn't tie up and just wears himself out). He claimed he was killing himself to make 168 in the past, but he always looked pretty small at LHW. All 4 of his losses are by knockout to guys who were big pressure fighters (Andrade and Glen Johnson) or huge punchers (Berrio and Cloud). Now that the negatives are out of the way, he should win a couple rounds off of Froch. Should. He might get the deer in the headlights look while in Nottingham. But he's skilled enough to win a couple rounds. Since you haven't seen him, I'll post videos of 3 of his losses so you can see for yourself. Not a great defense by any means, but really, there weren't a whole lot of options for him out there given that this was expected to be a stay-busy fight and not a blockbuster fight with Bute on deck. vs. Librado Andrade [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKz2FCyTKsA[/ame] vs. Glen Johnson [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvX1KKTs654[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQbWIVVb01Q&feature=relmfu[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rzt1tlMZ-dw&feature=relmfu[/ame] vs. Tavoris Cloud [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=peb7NLoz-Hw[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbZtPacVWVY[/ame]
no matter what people say... the fight is not the worse that froch and his team could of come up with. at the end of day no one can say froch has not fought top opponents in his last 5 fights at least! he deserves a lighter fight before going back for the big ones! still a decent fight no matter what. just hope mack puts on a decent performance! going to be good! G
yusuf mack is not even a name (was that harsh?)..odd? I guess its just an active fight at home then go for a big main event next year..u cant fault froch for that! about ****in time he takes a little break..lol
