"Well, he fought the best and lost practically every round to Andre Ward" - Steve Bunce

Do you think Froch is making a Mistake by trying to fight Lucian Bute coming off that loss?

Would a tough but winnable fight have been a better option?

I agree, a nice decent homecoming tough but not top level fight would've done me.

    Can't knock Carl's attitude though

There is a fine line between bravery and stupidity, confidence and arrogance.

I'm not sure what side Froch is on, Bute is Massive risk, big reward, but I don't think Froch can handle him tbh.

The awful truth is that for three years he fought the best - on the road - and still never got the recognition. At the start of the Super Six there was bold talk of the fighters sharing 50 million dollars. Did they?
I was sick of preaching about the Super Six, sick of praising Froch.
I think he needs a nice easy fight in front of the few hundred loyal fans that have spent thousands chasing him all over the globe.

    Adios.

I think it's good we have a fighter who willing to take risks and he obviously believes he can beat Bute. Also he is in a decent division so a loss to Bute would not be an end to his career and we can hardly call for fighters to box he best and then question them when they do.

Agree with you on it 100% Buncey.

YOu can praise Froch for what he did sure but it's like you said nobody even knows him, he could of defended the WBC trinket in nottingham against set up opponents and made millions.

He (and his fans actually) deserve a tough but winnable one in nottingham. Kessler sure is taking that option fighting Stiegletz and will pick up a strap and probably make More than Froch will going over to fight Bute in front of his hometown judges and referee

Carl's heroic and unique 2010 went under the radar - many papers never sent reporters. It's no good a few hundred online praising him for his skills, bravery and determination to fight the best - it's probably the same 200 who had an illegal feed for the Kessler and Abraham fight!

    Adios.

Buncey whats your prediction for Froch v Bute if it does happen? Is Bute on the same level as Ward? Or does Froch in your humble opinion have a decent chance against Bute in Nottingham in front of his own fans?

When we have a guy who always "fight's the best", travels and gets on with it, we don't care.

When we have a guy who doesn't always fight the best, puts on showpiece "events" at home, we chastise and complain about them.

How do you win over the British fan buncey?

    Let's get something straight:

Froch was 30 when he had his first decent fight against unproven prospect Pascal. He fought Pascal at home in Nottingham. It was his 24th fight in a row at home.

Froch was then lucky to be invited to fight in the super 6. He fought Taylor, a MW, in the USA. His very first fight abroad.

Froch then fought Dirrell, another unproven prospect in Nottingham.

He then fought Kessler in Kessler's backyard. Why did he have to fight Kessler abroad? Because Froch is not enough of a draw in his hometown to bring Kessler to Britain. Why? Because he was badly promoted and because he had not fought good enough competition by 32 to get noticed by the British public.

He then fought Abraham in a neutral location.

He then fought Glen Johnson in the USA and then Ward in the USA.

If Froch had been a draw or well managed, he'd have fought Kessler at home and Johnson at home, maybe.

Froch fought the guys he fought because of the super 6, not because he went out of his way to fight them. If he had been a draw at home or well promoted, he'd have had one or two more fights at home.

Froch didn't chose his opponents. And he didn't chose to fight on the road. He was lucky to have the super 6 and he isn't a draw so he had to fight on the road more than, say, Kessler. :good

As to Bute, yeah, he's agreed to fight Bute at home, but what options does he still have? Froch has lost to all the top world-class fighters he's faced and there's only Bute left, and Froch will be almost 35 by the time he faces Bute. So time to cash out whilst he still can.

    Earl,
You took the words right out of my mind.
I'm behind on this...is Bute coming to the East Midlands? Is Carl getting his passport out again? I don't get Boxing News.

    Adios.

True but if there is a chance to get Bute to the UK they should take it.

    Lucky?

    What was Jermain Taylor then?

What were unknown Dirrell and Ward?

    What was Middleweight Arthur Abraham?

Froch had as much right as anybody to be there, which was more than proven since he came in second place (out of Eight in the end)

    Ramon,
That's harsh and direct. Let's hope it is a "cash out" fight.
