His success came too late in his career. The general public aren't as interested in watching a mid 30s boxer compared to someone in their 20s, especially a non-heavyweight. You have to blame his management, they should got him a high profile fight a lot sooner.

Fans want to see good fights. We do not earn from boxing. We pay for boxing. So we wanna see good fights.

Some fighters are managed better than others, some fighters are better than others, some earn more than others

I dont really care about that

I just wanna see good fights

I dont care if 2,000 are watching a fight instead of 20,000, fans have lives to be getting on with ( well some of us do lol ), we wanna see good match ups

How a fighter is managed, promoted etc doesn't really concern us too much as long as they are having good match ups.

Boxing needs to get back to top fighters losing now and then. Protecting the 0 is b*llsh*t.

End of the day, in the UK, only a small number of fighters can get built up and earn big money, due to limited tv and money slots.

Please tell me the fighters that Bute could have fought that he didn't want to fight and please tell me where he should have fought them (instead).:good

Cleverly's job is to make as much money as possible for as long as possible as a professional boxer. He's made a lot more money since he became a pro than Froch has made at the same stage of his career, and Cleverly's prospects are looking a lot better than Froch's were at Cleverly's stage of his career.

In other words, he's better at it!:good

But do you prefer a boxer who has a more financially beneficial career or a fighter who fights in better fights ?

I couldnt give a f*ck who earns more money lol

I give a f*ck about how much money I earn and my career

As for boxing I like to see good fights, it simple really

You obviously have an agenda against Froch with this type of moronic post.

Buncey the question then is who's fault is that?? Carl is a shrewd guy in many ways so it was suprising that he let Hennessy ****-can his career on a slow, inactive trudge towards an eventual Pascal fight. He had no foundation to call out Calzaghe when he did at a time when just a little bit of profile might have seen him being the man in the other corner instead of Kessler at the Millennium Stadium. But at that time Kessler had vastly more fights and was a double world belt holder despite being the younger man. At the same time Froch was engaging in infrequent small fry bouts. Have to agree with many of the things Ramon has said on this thread. Froch has painted himself into this corner of having to cram in this schedule at the end of his career.

That is absolutely shocking. You are clearly a hater/idiot.

"His career was going nowhere." :think He was an unbeaten WBC champion who had just gone to the US and knocked out the former undisputed MW champion.

"he would fight in Notts...$200k each time" :tired Now I'm no Rob Palmer but I guarantee he gets at least £125k a fight in Notts as WBC champion or even now - whoever he fights.

"TV isn't interested in him" :huh his last seven/eight fights have been on showtime in the US and he is Sky's number 2 fighter now.

    :smooch

    See ya later.

wasnt he 26/27 when he turned Pro? Mick had him on BBC, ITV and Sky Sports. it was only at the end he ****ed up and lets be honest that was due to a financial meltdown rather than anything else.

With the recision Froch would have been on ITV or Setanta with the rest of the Super Six.

Froch isn't getting any younger. After so many big fights and him tooting his own horn about he only wants hard fights, he may not have the motivation to take a soft opponent.

After what he's been through and the balls hes shown, he deserves a lot more respect than "hes not a draw and he got lucky with the S6, time to cash out".

If this is all the respect Froch gets, then no wonder other fighters aren't rushing to fight the best
