Now, now... no need to get so defensive! ;)

I said Cleverly was better at his job than Froch is, not that I liked watching his fights more than Froch's. :good

By the way, Chris, is there any chance you might answer this, please?;)

So are you saying Cleverley is a better boxer/fighter than Froch?

Froch is a real fighter who at every level he has operated on fought the best and fought many of them. Domestically, MAgee, Dodson, Reid, Barney etc were the guys to beat and he did so. On the world scene as soon as he made his name he refused to take easy fights.

Fighting Bute just carries on the legacy that Froch has been building. Come one, come all and fight hard until the bell. Frochs isn't that good and our standards and expectations in boxing always seems to be so low but Froch is a warrior to the end.

Froch is a ****ing gladiator. The logic that boxing is a business first foremost just doesn't register with him. He wants to prove himself against the best and I give him huge respect for that.

This is totally false. He had just beaten Jermaine Taylor in the US

    Carl Froch's last seven fights

    2008 - Jean Pascal - W
    2009 - Jermaine Taylor - W
    2009 - Andre Dirrell - W
    2010 - Mikkel Kessler - L
    2010 - Arthur Abraham - W
    2011 - Glen Johnson - W
    2011 - Andre Ward - L

    and now....
    Lucian Bute - ??

People didn't think that Froch would beat Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, but he did. Close as they were. His fight with Kessler was also very close.

It wouldn't surprise me if Froch beats Bute. Nothing will surprise me about Froch now because he always surprises me.

Andre Ward IMO is the best 1 out there. Nobody is beating him soon.

It doesn't matter if he loses, because Froch puts his money where his mouth is. The fall out from the Super 6 is that Froch is respected now, where he used to be ridiculed as slow, predictable, no defence etc etc. Even the American fans respect Froch. He's said he will fight the best and he has consistently backed it up. He's a rare thing in this age of carefully managed boxers. After years of waiting for his title shot, he immediately lays it on the line for a risky fight abroad with Taylor, previously undisputed MW champ... who else would do that?

By comparison, I can't believe Cleverly could fight such a bum in his big homecoming fight. It was like watching a boxing version of The Emperor's New Clothes, with all the faux adulation and rapturous applause to mask the embarrassment of fighting a guy who's career was built around being a durable sparring partner. He should be cringing inside, especially with all the song and dance they made about it... Talking about serving up a steaming pile of **** to all his loyal Welsh fans.

    Froch is the truth.

You have to give showtime more credit for his CV then Froch, although Froch has to be respected for not pulling fast one and sticking through with it

I genuinely though Froch after his run might take a few easier fights on the advice of his promoter, but he's now straight into Bute. Full credit to the guy!!

I cant believe people are knocking Froch's promotion and desire to fight the best. Its absurd.
