Not really i would have both fights 40-60 to taylor/pavlik.

Froch is just as big a puncher as Pavlik.

I am impressed Froch wants this fight. He must think he would KO either. It would be amazing if this came off, for British boxing. But this is a hell of a long shot; let me be cynical and say it's a bit of a publicity stunt. If Joe couldn't get the winner of KP v. JT, Froch certainly won't, even if he beats Inkin. I think Froch's just trying to keep his name in the papers, to be honest. Well done to his management.

This fight is so far from happening. There's far more chance of Froch fighting the LOSER of Pavlik v Taylor as a final eliminator for one of Joe's vacated belts providing the fight with Hopkins is signed shortly and some of the European promoters don't slip some bungs to the authorities.

Id go with Froch over Taylor but not over Pavlik, Pavliks workrate would get to Froch who switches off alot when fighting.

If Taylor can knock Pavlik down, Froch will knock him out.

If Froch was American he would be a world champ already and in top 10 p4p.

Pavlik is no better than him.

I think Froch is pretty much the full package, with the exception of his low left hand and a decent promoter.

What the Americans don't realise, is that the British media have our two stellar fighters, Calzaghe and Hatton, on a bit of a pedestal. The others, such as Froch and Witter, merely piggy back their way into the spotlight by trash talking a load of absolute shite in the press. An example is below:

When Calzaghe couldn't find a decent opponent (prior to doing deal with Kessler), Froch was made an offer (with options for Frank Warren admittedly) to fight Joe, yet rejected it citing the options etc, and not long after the deal was made with Kessler. Froch's promoter then made Joe an offer, which was obviously rejected, then accused Joe of avoiding Froch and taking on an easy opponent!

But surely, Frank Warren's offer to Froch would have been better than Mick Hennessy's to Calzaghe, whilst the options would have been an irrelevance as Carl would have lost!

FYI - Witter and Froch have the same promoter.

In the meantime, Froch has beaten up the odd tomato can, and former JC victim Robin Reid and now thinks he is the king at 168. If Carl had a good promoter, this may come to fruition.

I think Froch has a very good pormoter! Also, I don't think Froch would have taken the Calzaghe fight unless it was for a ****-load of money, since it's a guaranteed loss. If Froch had really wanted to step it up, he could have fought Lucian Bute in the IBF eliminator for the title shot at Berrio. He chose not to, however, preferring instead to fight Tatevosyan, the man Bute had beaten. Froch could have already been a titleist by now...:deal

I don't think most folks stateside even know who Carl Froch is. I've never seen him fight, though I don't doubt the British contigent is correct in saying he is a solid fighter (I wish HBO/Showtime/Sky would do some sort of deal so we could see more of the British stars). At the end, doubt it will ever happen. Too many names of note at or around that weight (Calzaghe, Pavlik, Taylor, Wright, Hopkins, Miranda, Lacy, Abraham). Dont' think Froch fits in with this bunch recognition wise.

He doesn't...but neither do the rest of them either, except Joe and Mikkel.

As if Pavlik would take that fight

He was nearly knocked out by Jermain Taylor, he'd receive a standing week count against Froch

It wouldn't look very good on his record, as nobody knows who Froch is in America

Froch will be lucky if he ever gets a world title shot before Calzaghe gives up the belts , he's a good fighter but unpopular even in his own country. This is Frochs downfall. Froch needs marketing and support or will be waiting in line for a long time. Who wants to fight a very dangerous no - name , particually in the states ??
