whats the general thought on him here? think he could rule at smw ? could he beat kessler, bute, taylor, lacey
he has huge defensive holes/fights to laid back/does not have a high workrate. but he is a big puncher with either hand be it first round or last round, so is a danger to every fighter in the division. as to no big names, not his fault, no one wants to fight him with a name.
Froch KO's Taylor - in a competitive fight Froch UD's Lacy - very easily 120-108 Kessler UD's Froch - 'little Lennox' too good Froch UD's Bute - Bute is overrated
Froch beats Taylor easily? Froch has'nt beaten anyone worth a toss yet on the world stage. So far he's been allowed to fight at his own pace and noone with any power has exposed his defence.
Signs are promising but he hasn't fought one world class fighter yet so you can't just assume he could step it up and beat the likes of Taylor and co with ease. December 6th should tell us a lot.
Froch is an exciting fighter and can hit hard. i think he would give any of them a decent fight but having his hands held too low will be his eventual downfall. i think kessler will be the last man standing out of this lot.
I see, all the english guys are very high on him, surprise surprise:soccerred . He has a lot of flaws, we will see how far his power and his chin will carry him. Beats Taylor easily? I believe it when i see it. Taylor is still an elite fighter in my book, Froch is not. He is for sure fun to watch, so i will follow his next steps closely. My feeling is, he will capture a title somehow, but wont be a champ for too long.
Froch keeps his hands low to invite in gun shy domestic level fighters. He will not keep his hands low against world class opposition, because they will not be weary of engaging him. He doesn't defend, relying on his chin instead, true, but he has never had to defend so far, given the calibre and condition of the opposition he has faced. He has heavy hands, he can take a punch, he has good stamina, he is aggressive and he fights with confidence. I think all other praise or criticism or qualification of his strengths and weaknesses are presumptious since he has never fought at world class level yet. Pascal will have been his best opponent, true, but how much that will prove about Froch is questionable, since Pascal is himself unproven at world level. I guess we'll just have to rely on judging their performances on the night, which will to an extent be misleading. Until Froch faces a proven world class fighter, I don't think we will be able to appraise him properly. One thing is for sure, though: he has an exciting style which will provide for quality entertainment for years to come.
I enjoy watching him. He seems nuts. Just keeps his chin tucked into his shoulder and takes his opponents best shots to get a opening for his own. He seems so lazy. I hope he has some different fighting styles. I dont know how he would deal with a taylor type fighter who would happily jab him for 12 rounds.
Froch is slow. He would ko Lacy (who almost went down against Mendoza), but that's all. He loses against all the others because he won't touch them. Speed is almost everything in boxing.
