Both fights were close and could have gone either way. But given that most of the time the hometown fighter get´s the benefit of the doubt, so I think it´s okay how it is.
I could not have said it better myself. I actually like and appreciate Froch's spirit and toughness. But everytime the guy opens his mouth he just rubs me the wrong way. If he were a simple humble guy instead of a a bitter, insecure boxer who has a lot of issues...I would definitely appreciate him more.
That drives me crazy about him as well. He is a tough gritty guy...But let's be honest, he's Rudy (from the movie) He doesn't have a speck of athletic ability and he's easy to hit. But for some crazy reason he tries to fight like Roy Jones. It amazes me that he hasn't been decapitated yet.
Serious questions for you!!! Did you think Wicky Hatton was winning the second round by a country mile against Pacquiao and did you think Wicky would have beaten Mayweather had it not been for Joe Cortez?
I think he lost to both Dirrell and Kessler. But there is absolutely no shame in that. Both fights were extremely close and against the top of the division. Froch is still one of the best there is at 168lbs. People give to much importance to the "0".
I scored both fights 6-6, obviously with the point deduction to Dirrell that would have made a difference too. I'm not surprised Kessler got the nod over Froch and i'm not surprised that Froch got the decision over Dirrell, with close rounds the judges will probably score for the aggressor.
He's a good fighter, but he doesn't have elite skills. Not to mention the fact that he's already 32 or 33. If he get a rematch with Dirrel in a year or so, he'll be absolutely destroyed.
Both fights were close with many close rounds which could have gone either way. Neither result was ANYWHERE NEAR a robbery which seems to be the fashionable cry whenever someone thinks a fighter has won a by a couple of rounds but the decision goes the other way
Totally agree with you. At least most of his fights are pretty entertaining. But I struggle to root for someone so arrogant (even though he used to train in the same gym as me pre-Pascal).
That's pretty much how i scored both fights as well. If Dirrell would have fought with the confidence that he had earlier, than he maybe could have won. Instead, he ran, held and complained against the champion in his own backyard (except from round 9 on). That's not how to win a title. Against Kessler, i thought Froch landed the harder punches and closed out stronger. The fight was close, although the majority of what won Kessler rounds is those showy punches that he threw while Froch couldn't miss with his jab and had Kessler hurt on several occasions. I guess I'm just one of those people who believe that in order to win a title from someone, you have to beat them convincingly.
I think the point deduction ruined any chance hatton had. i think he came on strong in the second round also
