Carl Froch's best boxing display?

We're nearly a couple months removed from the awkward one's shutout performance against Arthur Abraham. Many on here felt it was Froch's best boxing performance to date.

However, I rewatched his fight against Pascal last nightl and I feel it was the better performance. For one, unlike Abraham, Pascal was actually game. For two, when Froch wasn't forced into a brawl with one Pascal's rushes he easily controlled the fight with that long jab of his (it was a fight he showed he could stay disciplined and didn't force the brawls when he was in control). He actually had to dig deep in spite of being in control of the fight because both men were completely exhausted in the championship rounds and Froch also had a slight cut I believe in the 9th.

Do you agree or disagree? What do you think was Froch's best performance?

Abraham was more impressive. He totally dominated and never looked like getting hit never mind losing. Kessler was the most exciting though.

For me Froch is one of the most exciting boxers to watch. Shame he gets little recognition. If I think of all my friends (in the UK) I reckon only about 5% would've heard of him where as 80%+ have ehard of Khan.

Oh there's no question dominating someone round after round is far more impressive from an aesthetic standpoint than a 9-3 type decision, but my problem with the Abraham fight...and this is not to take away from Froch just like I won't take Clottey's awful no-show away from Pacquiao...is Abraham just didn't seem to come to win. I mean, if you're down 9-0 on the cards you might want to change up the gameplan, or fight more aggressively. In comparison Pascal definitely came to win...he just wasn't good enough that night.

Other aspects I forgot to mention would be that Pascal is clearly more athletic than Froch, and, since it's come of importance in some of Popkins threads, Pascal was a natural 168lber, he wasn't a 160lber coming up.

Froch is definitely an exciting fighter. He's always in awesome fights sans the Dirrell fight.

Tough question. Pascal is a much better fighter than Abraham, so one would naturally expect a more competetive fight.

Froch made Abraham look like a club fighter. He absolutely dominated AA. However, if you go back and check some threads from back when Pavlik/Abraham was a hot topic, you'll find at least a half dozen posters who predicted a Pavlik win, and then proceeded to describe Froch/Abraham in detail. In other words, a lot of people knew what would happen to Abraham as soon as he ran into a world class boxer/puncher with a significant height and reach advantage.

I'll say Pascal was by far the better win, but DAMN, Carl put in a helluva performance against AA.

Why the **** do you need to talk about Pavlik in every ****ing comment you post. This thread has nothing to do with him. :tired:tired:tired Keep licking your alcoholic's balls. :patsch

    I voted Froch-AA. Froch dominated the fight from A to Z !

Froch against Abraham is a better display of boxing and performance. While Froch-Pascal is an underrated war.

well, considering Pascal is a better fighter, I think Froch's performance against Pascal was better. It was a hotly contested battle that Froch won on his better conditioning and a very solid jab in the championship rounds.

Pascal was full of natural talent but a little green and over-reliant on power punches, and had the same stamina problems back then that he has today and will likely always have.

I lost a lot of money that night.

Froch's domination of Abraham surprised alot of people, but I'm not one of them.

You also have to give Pascal extra credit for taking the fight to Froch's home town, something Abraham outright refused to do.

Pascal v Froch was a far better fight, both fighters put in quality performances.

Against AA was the best display of technical boxing I've seen from him. Was very impressed with his stature.

Everyone tought froch was a clumsy no talent clown that was a ko waiting to happen.
Yet he proved coming in as a betting underdog that he is the opposite a great boxer with some of the biggest balls and heart in boxing.
Froch has really grown on me and I hope he wins the super six.

Does this really need a Poll?

I'd definitely date his fight against Abe his best Boxing display. Perfect execution of game-plan.

I thought he'd get knocked out in that fight. I was wrong.

I agree, I became a fan after he beat Taylor. I picked Froch to win the super 6 when the tourney first started. I knew Froch's toughness will to win and underrated boxing skills would see him through to the end. With that said I now think Ward will beat him if they meet in the tourney finals.

Both were good for their own reasons. I love it when he just stands toe to toe, it's exciting as **** if he is fighting a fighter that's game for it. The AA fight was a nice surprise and probably a more professional performance but the Pascal fight was a *******. I like to see a proper fight as much as a boxing lesson.

I have to admit, when i watched him fight JT I couldnt believe how poor he looked as an actual boxer. His defense was horrible, his accuracy was off, his timing was a joke. froch displayed almost zero boxing ability in that fight .

Since then I have seen him out on some good performances with a much better showing of actual boxing ability.

Which leaves me in kind of a dilemma, was JT that good that night or was froch that bad? Was AA just that bad that night or was froch that good?

I give froch a lot of credit for his heart and determination, but I will always have doubts about his actual pure boxing ability due to the JT and Dirrell fights.

I picked kessler I thought ward was going to get schooled by kessler. I still dont know for sure who will win it but I will be rooting for froch, first let him get by the road warrior, that will be a difficult task.
