Mick Hennesy, Carl Froch's promotor, asked Kalle Sauerland to postpone tonights fight between Kessler and Froch approximately a week ago. Kalle Sauerland rejected this proposal. No info on the reason for this postponement, but the troubles with volcanic ashes or Froch's purported injury springs to mind.

I imagine it will have been the volcano troubles, we (the UK) closed our ENTIRE airspace due to it.

It's not just a case of getting to Denmark - any changes to the schedule can affect training, obligations etc. It's a hastle that has the potential to physically and mentally take the edge off a fighters chances.

Well I think that it worked out fine for Froch. He was able to stay in the UK for 3 more days and he even said it was an advantage.

If it was a different climate, e.g. Las Vegas or the Equatorial regions, then a postponement would be necessary. I don't think it will affect Froch.

Perhaps Fat Mick discovered a new buffet restaurant he wanted to try out.

True, it has worked out well for them. I do think they were right to raise concern about it, as things could have been a LOT worse.

Could be a ready-made excuse for a loss though? or maybe i'm just a sucker for conspiracies :yep
