I don't understand this, it's not like Eubank was #1 in the division or P4P. Maybe it's that Eubank isn't that good to begin with. He hasn't beat anyone of note. This has to stop.
Beating Eubank Jr. is not gonna set the world alight. I would be more impressed if he went on to beat Smith in the final. However, I do believe Groves answered a lot of questions regarding his chin and gas tank.
Eh it goes up a tick that's all. Eubank never proved anything at 168 (or 160) really. Yes it was a big event and it was hyped but Eubank was exposed more than anything. The division is kind of weak. Still credit Groves he won and won convincingly
c'mon - you can get IBO belts down at poundland. As much as I enjoyed the outcome don't go calling this a unification fight.
Froch was an elite fighter and proved that by competing with other elite fighters. This tournament is no super 6. Groves wasn't on his level and Froch proved that clearly in their second fight. Froch looked sloppy in the first and the stoppage was horrible, but he also looked unmotivated. The close fight put the fire back in his belly and he showed up properly for the second fight.
