    Been from Leeds I'm a big fan of Carl, even though he's not the most gifted of boxers, he never fails to excite, you always get ure moneys worth from him, even in defeat.

    Just wanted to know what you guys thought?

    I agree with you........

    But the lad does spend far too much time in top Yates's - I saw him in there a few weeks ago and we had a quick chat. He said that Gomez would give Khan one rough ride!

    Thats is true, ive spotted him a few times in there, i remember when the mitchell fight was called off cos carl had hurt his back, but there were rumours of carl been out drinking,

    i remember walking into top yates, n he was in the corner sipping a cheeky pint, true legend.

    great guy though, very approachable

    He is always in there, with his Henri Lloyd gear on staring at all the ladies, there are often a few decent chicks in there around 10pm before they go to Oceana, which is **** these days with the hotdog stand upstairs :rofl

    Hardly anyone seemed to recognise him but I was out with a mate who is pretty boxing mad & went over for a quick word.

    legend, same here mate, i was the only one who recognised him, none of my mates are into boxing at all, i met him once in scarborough at that paul ingle benefit party, sound bloke

    I think Leeds is seriously overrated as a night out TBH - Newcastle and Liverpool wipe the floor with it.

    If you are brutally honest, Wakefield isn't that far behind, nor is Xscape!

    No ****, Gomez gave Carl all he could handle for 3 or 4 rounds at Donny last year before Michael inevitably gassed.

    I dont mind Leeds, prob quite biased though, dont tend to get into town that much these days though, about twice a month. aye wakefield can be a laugh, getting pissed and lost in quest, last time i got to Cas Vegas though it was apalling.

    I'm usually four times a month, perhaps five - so familiarity may breed contempt.

    The top end is half decent, but the bottom end is full of benders or bars that play **** music.

    I prefer Buzz to quest (or did anyway) - Cas has been decent every time I have been. Better than the ****ing Frontier anyway lol

    It always is, but where do you go after there - half a mile walk to anywhere decent after that!

    There is sufficient eye candy up top or in Greek Street IMO.

    They are all ****.

    Oceana is like the chav asylum, Sports Bar full of teenyboppers, Walkabout is ok if you fancy blocking bottles of VB with your face, Mint is full of queers, Space full of pill poppers.....

    Ermmm.....

    I think Bar Risa is half decent until 12/1 ish, Tiger Tiger 7/10 and NU bar 8/10 - best bet is to go up Headingley when the students aren't here. Still pretty busy but without the annoying 'student accent' - they all speak the ****ing same.
