    Simple question

If the knockdown punch happened with 1min to go in the round would Groves have recorded a 1st round KO?

I think most defnitely yes, Froch was all over the place and Groves would have unleashed hell on him and finished him quite easily

I think no doubt he would of finished him.. I think Froch is there to be caught again in the first.. Will George go for him earlier.. Imagine if he KO's him in the first. The international superstar ha

    Definitely.

If George was going to be stopped by Foster in the manner that he was Carl should have been stopped the second he got up and staggered all over the place.

He was definitely out on his feet and had Groves caught Froch in the first half of the round I am pretty certain Carl would have recorded an embarrassing 1st round Knockout loss. However Carl's powers of recovery are probably the best in all of boxing. How he was still there after round 1 and able to absorb big shots throughout the fight (Round 6 especially) like he did is baffling. Carl has an inhuman chin.

This is my point though, Carls power of recovery would not be being talked about had that punch landed earlier, it would have been game over in the first.

Carl was saved by the bell, nailed on fact

Agree with you entirely mate. Im backing GG to win, and I'd love nothing more than to see GG put away Froch early, if not only to see Lee Froch go into meltdown. He'd probably top himself after all the **** he has been talking

Maybe Groves should have landed that punch in the first second of the fight or there should have been a special continuous match with no bells.

What IF...........................................it didnt happen so no-one knows.

IMO Froch weathered the storm...he did extrmely well to do so after that sucker punch.

There's a positive to every negative! or a negative to every positive which ever way you look at it.

I'm guessing if it was Groves you wouldnt start this thead cos you like him?

This thread depresses me, not because I dont agree but because I had been backing Groves at 100/1 for round 1 for the months leading upto the fight, I had about £120 running on GG at 100s, earlier in the round or even centre of the ring, so Froch could not fall into the ropes, he may have fallen over again and that could have been that.

Still those are the breaks I guess, never missed the money as did 5 and 6 quid here and there but just for a moment there was a chance.

Backed Groves in 1-3 and 4-6 this time at 33s and 18s, fingers crossed may have a squeak

100% Concorde would have been KO'd with a minute left in the round, how funny would that have been to see Froch and his fellow Polish refugee brothers totally humiliated, does anybody know if Froch's fat ***** mum ever paid the money back she defrauded?
