Groves hit froch flush on the bell and froch was still standing

 

There was only one fighter staggering about like a drunk and blowing like a steam train in the 9th round.
Georgie boy had every advantage, and then had a dream scenario by dropping Froch so early, and making Froch fight more passively for the next few rounds, but he still shot his load and couldn't finish the job.
I can't wait for the excuse's after Froch puts the question marks to bed in the rematch.

He wobbled again though he was definitely hurt and with more than 30 seconds left in the round I can't see him getting out of that round.

 

100% yes, I'm equally certain however that had Foster not jumped in Groves would not have survived the ninth.

 

Froch didn't look that hurt to me. He staggered back on his feet but he got up right away.

 

I'm pretty sure carl would have been stopped, a few more big shots with Carl all over the place like he was and it would have been game over.

We will never know, same as with what would have happened if the stoppage hadnt happened, though I didnt think Groves was that hurt at the time of the ending and thought he could have gone on

In my opinion, if Groves had dropped Froch with one minute left in the round, he does force a first round stoppage. Froch wasn't completely gone, but he was very shaky and I don't think he would have survived. That said, in my opinion if Froch vs Groves was given about 20 more seconds of action, Froch stops Groves legitimately in the 9th round. Then all of a sudden we're not talking rematch, we're talking about, "well, Froch looked bad but showed his usual heart to pull the win out" instead of "Groves got it taken from him by the ref and Froch was saved." What-ifs don't matter. Froch got the win, but the rematch is coming and both fighters have their chance to eliminate the doubt.
