Froch has a hard chin and is a SMW titlist. Remember Hearns was ko'd twice by barkley. If froch can take those punches and land his own, possibly froch by ko, otherwise hearns wide ud or ko.

 

Hearns was a better boxer, but chin prone....one never kmows. and we're all too sure that our boy will win no doubt

After watching Taylor hit Froch at will with left hands, I cannot even imagine how bad Tommy Hearns would beat Froch up. This one doesn't go 3 rounds.

The problem is, Hearns was beating the **** out of Barkley in their first fight, too. You didn't need to match Tommy's boxing abilities to beat him once he got to the higher classes. At 168, it's not out of the question that a guy with a chin and a punch could still knock him out despite being at a skill disadvantage. Froch knocking him out is a realistic possibility.

Not surprising nobody gives Froch a shot, though. I suppose that's why they're called "fluke" wins- nobody predicts it happening until it does.

I'd like the thread author to qualify the thread. Are we talking about a mythical 'weight-less' prime vs prime contest or are we using Hearns as he really was at 168? If its the former, Hearns obviously wins easily.

On the other hand, Hearns at 168 and above wasn't always too special. Froch could definitely trouble him and possibly win if he caught him on one of his many less than impressive nights.
