Carl "THE COBRA" Froch Vs "BAD" Chad Dawson

dont get me wrong. kessler and calzaghe would eat frocH alive. but other then that i think he would challenge anyone else at middleweight or super middleweight. i have seen his fight locally in nottingham a few times. and he looks good. defence a little poor but who knows?

 

have you actually seen dawson box? he's on a completely different level to lacy.

he has handspeed to match joe, underrated power, a height and reach advantage, throws from odd angles like joe, good speed around the ring, he is just a very well rounded fighter. joe can beat him on the inside, i just don't know if joe can move quick enough to close the space and **** chad up there.

please never compare lacy with dawson again.

 

Why is Dawson A level? Barely heard of him to be honest, and he hasn't done anything to get me worried for Joe yet. He's in Clinton Woods league, not Joe Calzaghe's

The fight will never happen because

1) Who the feck is Chad Dawson?
2) Makes far less money than other potential fights, like Pavlik/Taylor/Hopkins, for the above reason
3) Does nothing for Joe's legacy, see reason 1
4) Joe has said he will retire after maybe 2 more fights

 

My point obviously went way over your head

When Joe beats this Dawson chap, Dawson will become rubbish overnight. That is because he is not a proven force, as was the case with Lacy. That gives bitter yanks ammunition to criticize his opponents, and say they never actually thought he was good

So in other words, Joe is on a hiding to nothing with this fight

not at all, if joe were to beat dawson it would be a 116-112 type job. dawson would like kessler take rounds and look good in the process but in the end joe would simply be the better man.

does kessler get the same treatment as lacy does now on here? no of course not, because he put up a good fight and up until the 8th round or so was well and truely in the fight, he is still respected and people still realise he is a ****ing top quality boxer because he showed it against the best in joe.

the reason lacy gets so much hell is because he was so hyped and so many expected him to waste zaghe but got thrashed absolutely brutally, smashed to pieces, lost every second of the fight. dawson would not suffer the same treatment in the ring.

 

Froch vs Dawson won't happen for ages either, and it very much depends on how they fare in the next few years

Froch needs to stop talking, and actually start delivering, and now is his big chance as belts will be up for grabs in the SMW division

Dawson needs to concentrate on actually getting himself out there, because nobody knows who the **** he is, and hence if he's as good as people say then he's not exactly an enticing prospect financially or in terms of legacy
