There was an article a while back on ESB as to why Carl Thompson should be in the hall of fame, but I bet most of you didn't read it. A case can be made about Mormeck being the best in his resume but we all know that Jean Marc Mormeck is pretty inconsistent and had lost to lesser fighters in the past. Carl Thompson beat and lost to some pretty good fighters and always comes to fight, and let's not forget that he beat Eubanks twice. When Haye was facing Thompson I predicted a ko win for Carl...I've been watching Carl since he started. By the way, I'm pulling for Haye to beat Vlad, so don't call me a hater. What do you guys think?

Thompson was a warrior but no way should he be in the HOF. Not in a million years.

    Mormeck is better.

Thompson is a good fighter but he isn't A class, Thompson's ability to take a beating is what won him the fight with Haye, he was losing that fight and clearly but outlasted him.

You guys seem to underestimate Carl Thompson and did you see him fight in his prime ? He's got flaws but he is good.

Carl Thompson was the second best fighter Haye fought after Mormeck. Mormeck was undefeated in 10 years before the Bell fight and he was WBC, WBA, Lineal and Ring champ at CW which is why I consider him to be better than Thompson.

He is a good fighter, never said he isn't but he is also a gatekeeper in my view. The type of fighter who is good enough to test one's stamina and power as he guarantees to be there till you SERIOUSLY take him out or just completely overpower him. Not much for skills or technique either but a first class test for world class fighters.

Carl Thompson is hard working, but far from Haye's best opponent.

I think you must be related to Carl in some way - am I right?

Mormeck is an elite level fighter . A level only Thompson could only ever dream of.

Now I know Mormeck doesn't have the best defense in the World or the best stanima. But he takes out Thompson after 7 rounds.

In fairness it's hard for it to be his best win when it was a loss.

EDIT:(**** above beat me to it)

Mormeck was A-level not Elite. Mormeck never had an opponent at CW talented enough to make you think he was Elite. Thompson was also more than a journey man at the time of the Haye fight considering he just KO Rotherman who afterwards went the distance with Cunningham just to put things in persepective.
