Williams exhibiting signs of life, suddenly exploding off the ropes with a combination. Williams threading in the right hand between Adames' gloves and rolling off to his side. Adames marches in and stuffs a jab in his face, then a short chopping hook.

Williams is looking off balance and woozy, keeling side to side as he gets jabbed and uppercutted by Adames in the middle of the ring. Williams is looking fragile, backing up into the ropes. Adames spamming right hooks. Williams uses head movement dodge some, retreating tactically, and ties up. Adames shakes him loose, bulling forward, throwing nonstop bombs. Triple right jab and left hand, and Mark Nelson jumps in, iffy stoppage. Williams was actively defending.

J-Rock's corner had been concerned about him on the last stool break, and there were moments earlier in the same round where he looked shaky, but at that particular moment even though Adames was unloading Williams had the situation in hand.
