    Some refs can't handle the pressure of a violent, great fight. Those refs should be weeded out of main events.

    Yep. In a back and forth high level fight there is zero reason to stop a fight in a situation like that.

    Crazy thing is, as brought up earlier, Nelson has a tremendous amount of experience. This was just a judgment malfunction.

    He was even waiting after his initial attempt was thwarted (by Adames and Williams circling away so their backs were to him) to squeeze in between them again, and so had an additional few moments to make a sober appraisal of whether Williams was intelligently defending himself.

    I was just watching out of the corner of my eye and even I could see it was a bit premature. Had shades of Stevenson's last fight, where it seems like the ref just stopped it cause he thought "Eh, we know who's gonna win anyways, let's just stop it so we can go home." Not saying it's exactly the same but it reminded me of that a bit.

    Man, I hope to Christ it's awhile before something tops that phony garbage. I do think this stoppage was a little premature but I can at least say it's better than that. One of the preceding punches landed, for one :lol:

    One of the worst stoppages I've ever seen. Feel extremely bad for Jrock, imo Jrock was winning in a very close fight.
